İ am tired of playing with paper tanks

Recently i researching İsrael toptier and the paper is thicker than these tanks. Everyone easly pen this tanks. İtalian ariete tanks also same.Not a single shot bounces from the tank.
Those tanks are really like this in irl or Gaijin making these values ​​up?

At top tier very few parts of the tank actually provide any sort of defense because of the high penetration shells. Your only real chance of stopping shots is ERA or getting lucky that the opponent decides to shoot at a sloped part of your armor.

Modern vehicle armor is made to protect against small arms and fragmentation. Tank guns get so deadly that making effective armor is just too hard. You need other methods like ERA to protect you. Most of the armor simply isn’t designed for tank to tank combat, aside from MBTs.

ERA is a hell of a thing when going off of the best design expectations and not the empty reality.

Nevermind that the armor on the real T-80 series isn't that impressive, gaijin have found their own numbers.

That all depends on what ERA vs what attack?

Speaking in "IRL" terms tanks fitted with heavy ERA like Kontakt-5 would have had a pretty good chance for that to significantly reduce the penetration of APFSDS rounds of the era, although the actual coverage of that armor was only something like 66% of the frontal arc. That means that, in addition to damaged/detonated boxes being useless, there's a chance a bit misses the ERA completely

Of course things like M829A3 and tandem warhead HEAT weapons are going to completely bypass that armor.

Besides M829A3 would completely bypass any ERA.

That is not true with the merkava. The merkava has over 1 meter of RHA in real life. Merkava is heavily unrealisticly nerfed for balance. My question is why even add the merkava if it is so imbalanced that it hardly resembles its real life counterpart.
