Leo 2 engine deck.
Why is the engine deck of the leopard 2's modeled incorrectly. There is a massive dead zone in an area where the gun should be able to depress but cant. You can see the gun should be able to depress but there's just an invisible wall stopping it.

Do you have any real life proof showing it can do that/isn't designed to avoid doing that or you're just assuming because there is space there?
I dont believe its modeled incorrectly, the rear dead zone is common on NATO tanks because of the large engine which is visually seen as a lifted rear, meaning the gun has to elevate in order to traverse to the rear of the tank

Both of you entirely missed what I was saying. There are two parts of the rear of the tank where there is an invisible wall.

My point was that it may be intentional to prevent the gun from hitting the engine deck irl, as far as I can see in test drive the gun is lifted a reasonable distance for that.

This is also a video game so its entirely pointless. Liberties are taken in other areas for gameplay purposes so this seems like an unnecessary nerf.

This argument in itself is pointless because then they could just make the gun clip through the tank and call it a gameplay concession. Engine humps are a thing almost every nation has to deal with.

My guy, I never said that they should make the gun clip through the engine. You have once again entirely missed the point of what I'm saying. Also if this argument is pointless then you're free to leave.

Your argument is that there are degrees left for the gun to lower over the engine deck, my argument is that this is based on Gaijin's approach of realism, your counter-argument is that they could just make a consession for those degrees because gameplay, my counter-argument to that is that if we're going into the "they could just do it for gameplay" territory, then a whole lot of things can be done to make it better for gameplay over realism.

If you have proof that the gun gets lowered to nearly scrape the engine deck on irl examples, send it to Gaijin, otherwise don't expect to get those degrees because it's not how Gaijin works.

"not how gaijin works"
Is that really what you think? If so then oooooo boy have I got news for you.

Also this isn't an argument like you seem to think it is, we aren't on twitter. The matter of fact is that there is space for the gun to depress and its an unnecessary nerf that doesn't improve gameplay at all. There are no counter arguments to this because as I said this isn't an argument. It is what it is.

I know what you mean and wondered the same why the Leos barrel faces upward when looking over it's back giving it a big disadvantage in close battles.

According to some other people apparently knowing about this is that it's a safety measure in real life to not damage the barrel but it can be turned off if necessary with the gun stabilisation. So I don't see why it shouldn't be able to do that in the game. At least let it lower it straight over the engine deck without this lift.

Nah it should be the norm to be able to lower the gun and shoot over the engine deck in a straight line if the tank can do it in real life.

It is what it is indeed and would be long in the game if it were a Russian tank.
