Why does Russian get Modern MBTs and Nato not?

The T80BVM is from 2018, the T72B3 is from 2012 every other Top Tier MBT is from the 2000s why does Russia get such modern MBTs but other Countrys dont?

Pretty much yea, as far as I can tell the game DOES have modern NATO tanks and there's the reasonable expectation that we'll get more trickling in with time.

The Leopard A7 isn't tangibly different from the existing A6/4 variants in the game as far as gameplay would be concerned anyway.


I actually do think ya'll are complaining over nothing..


PS: The bait is in the title 'Why doesn't NATO get modern tanks' - They obviously do and we have every expectation that their addition will continue.

I'm not refuting any Leo 2a6 variant, those are the current MBTs of Germany and are in the game.

currently the most modern version in Service in the Bundeswehr is the Leopard 2A7V btw we have more than 30 of them now where are your T14s huh ah yes 3 or 4 made and not even in service

Timeline wise isn't and never has been an issue for gaijin outside of their odd use of it in the air tree's to argue for drip feeding content to avoid changing the max BR's. The problem with the patriot in particular is that gaijin needs to create a fictional vehicle or use some sort of prototype spaa variant of the patriot as unlike the rest of the missile SPAA's in game, the patriot system is a stationary weapon's platform similar to an artillery piece rather than a mobile front or near front line anti air support vehicle.

Very true, I agree with you. Since you brought this up, the Patriot could be used to defend airfields from farther ranges than other airfield AA instead of being a vehicle for players to use in GRB. In any case, if we do start getting more advanced war machines in war thunder, I do think we might see the Patriot on the M983 truck.

I want the outer heli spawn and air field's to receive some form of defense system like the patriot, maybe restrict it's range and defense angles a bit so people have a harder time abusing it for defending themselves but I do hope we get to see air defense systems like it in game or maybe the mantis AA cannons, those things would be cool to see too.

Hell yeah, I hear ya. It's hard to even spawn in a heli mid-late match or sometimes early since some Ka cuck is camping your spawn with AAM's or his cannon. Seeing one get blown outta the air would be beautiful.

Actually I just thought about it, patriots and mantis AA systems can target airborne missiles so could we potentially have them target those instead, maybe force heli's and planes to get into a certain range of the map before launching their missiles that way they can't hide quite so easily but at the same time a player is still needed to actually kill the heli/plane so people don't complain like they do with mid field AA batteries in air RB?
