why does it feel so squishy, while being at the same weight as some russian tanks.
everyone shoots through my turret, and my sides are nonexistent. 40mm pen required for side turret penetration? 200mm gun mantlet? even a 2s38 can kill me from the front. is this real? did they really build such a squishy tank?

The Type 10 was built with Japans Geography and Infrastructure in mind, therefore it had to be light enough to pass bridges without damaging or collapsing them.

No they never built it that squishy. There have been an enormous amount of bug reports how have incredibly incorrect its armour layout is but gaijin doesn't seem to care. From what I understand the TKX should have frontal armour similar to the 2A6.

Same frontal armor like a Leo 2A6 with less than 50 tons?
I can´t really see that, unless that protection level comes with additional armor modules.

I can´t really see that, unless that protection level comes with additional armor modules.

there are 3 configs of the tank weighing 40, 44 and 48 tons respectively but both of the type 10s we have ingame are 44 tons with no armor difference

there are only 2 people in the gigantic turret. the t80s manage to keep weight low too while being of a similar setup. they arent that squishy

this tank would be by far the best ingame when modelled to spec.
fastest, quick and hard hitting gun, and good armor protection.
i want my k2 already. would be an even better one. bigger engine, same weight, and l55 gun

Interesting.
Should they add the full armor version, it could be either:
- Another tech tree Type 10 with the add on armor package.
- Adding the armor mod for the regular Type 10.
- It will be (most likely) a premium or Squadron vehicle.
