Ground RB is Boring me

Found out that I have no motivation whatsoever to keep the grind in ground RB. The Progression is slow, the tanks all look the same, and half the maps are terrible depending on what play style your tank revolves around.

I've made it so far to Germany 7.7 (I've had to grind through literally 4 vehicles at the same br 7.3 for 2 months, STUCK in the same exact BR for TWO months)

Unlocked the Leopard A1A1 and currently and researching it, remember how I said the tanks all look the same? Yea, I'm grinding 180k RP just to get the same tank with a slight upgrade package.

Anyone know how to make this game mode less boring?

I agree the tank grind is really slow though, which is why I've gravitated to mostly playing air nowadays as the grind is nowhere near as bad and you can realistically unlock a new jet in 1-2 days with a few hours grinding.

The way that WT makes money is by frustrating its player base through sheer grind. So the "boring" aspect of the game is, to a certain extent, by design, with the final goal being that you either keep grinding, leave, or else put money into the game so that you can buy your way to the top.

As for map design, again, the quicker you die, the quicker you are likely to jump into a new game, thus keeping the match maker fed. As a result, spawn camping isn't only allowed, but, from what I've seen, actively encouraged (before you used to blow up if you enter enemy spawn, now you get marked on the map so that the enemy tanks can come to you).

As for making it less boring, usually playing it with friends would be a good way to go, so that you get a laugh out of it at least, but then again, WT isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Playing multiple trees could work for a bit, but the same problem would repeat itself multiple times later.

I would play Air RB if only Gaijin didn't make it so boring too. Historical matchmaker off means that every single match I play is USA vs USA, not a single match I have played without a civil war occurring ever since they rolled that out. No fun in dog fighting the same jet as yourself, whether it's my F14 or F16.

Might just be me having a warthunder burn out.

Stop grinding and just pick a few lineups you like to play and play them. I play mostly 3.7 lineups and have a great time. Couldn’t tell you what vehicle I’m researching or what the progress is, I just don’t care.

Don’t grind. Just play. Let ♥♥♥♥ unlock naturally.

Sounds more like a general annoyance with the game than Ground RB in particular. I could suggest Sweden as an alternative if you're looking to have varying vehicles, since they (technically) have multiple nations' stuff, my own lineups consist of 3 at multiple BRs.

I would recommend air ab till you hit 6.0 and then moving to RB. Air is such a blast with re-spawns. This game started with Air so give it a chance.

Even just the biplanes in Air AB are top notch.

But it gets boring too, then I switch to ground. Till I burn out and come back in 6 month.

just buy the premiums, get the upgrades. takes about 6 months of grind to get to top tier and then the game becomes passable. you can't avoid the grind unless you are a dev or very rich.

yeah it boring as you go up. the game play changes a bit when you get thermal sights and also when helicopters start coming in.

no kidding 6 months of grind, 750 hours in game time. think about it....

how to have fun:

GE squadron vehicles during sales

have full air lineup

BMP-2M + T-80UK + Ka-52 + Mi-28, Mig29 + Yak + Su25-T with prem Su-39 and Mig23 is my lineup on GRB

Mode is not focused at all on ground vehicles, its more focused on the unlimited use of aircraft as people are exploiting this issue. Main focus for "Ground Battles" is to use ground vehicles but because Gaijin is refusing to allow this to happen, they have been letting planes have full reigns in Ground RB because the mode gives what Air RB is lacking which is respawning as well as easy enemy kills making the game unbalanced.

Aircraft in Ground RB is an exploit Gaijin has created and wants players to use it entirely at the same time condemning exploits (unless its an exploit they intended to abuse).

Makes sense, I'll try this out.

I've always been making the joke lately anyways every time I die to a bomb, I'd say "Most skilled Ground RB player" in chat.

Problem is that I have grinded to jets in both USA and Germany, but I didn't touch the CAS line for germany and have not played a single minute in any US CAS prop plane. Until the planes become multirole like the F4E able to carry GBUs and Air to Air missiles I don't have a good CAS plane.

Try Arcade. Faster matches, a lot more hectic, CAS basically doesn't exist. Don't have to stick to one mode.
