I doubt they will come back as a event reward in the foreseeable future. The only time this has happened to my knowledge is with things like the Maus, Po-2, and some of the really old low BR collectible planes. Each of those is it's own unique case though and arguably don't even count as event vehicles.
Gaijin also said they would never have supersonic aircraft, seeking missiles, capital ships, or fire suppression and repair available for stock vehicles.
A lot of players have whined that they want their exclusivity despite some of these vehicles rarely being played anymore. If Gaijin thinks they can make more money offering missed vehicles to players than to event whales, they'll likely so it in a heartbeat.

Like with the 25K GE pack you can buy 10.4 million SL. That's not even enough for 200 chests. I've bought at least 1200 chests over the time and got a single woppin vehicle. That's 72 million SL. Or in other words around 800 Euros worth of SL. I can be glad I got those SL through playing and not through paying
