the f2 and the f15 are way too strong and would be able to snipe planes from across the map and the f16AJ is fake but it's fine because japan has the Phantom.

so this is how to fight against the f16 and mig29 in the Phantom:

so what you do is you fly high and snipe with yo... wait no they outrange you.

so what you do is fly low so they don... wait no they have pulse dopler.

what you do is you fly right at them and try to... wait no they have all aspect IR missiles.

ok so what you do is hide around a mountain then when they get close you dogfig... wait no they can out turn you

ok so what you do is spend the first 10 minutes afk on the runway being completely useless to your team, AND THEN! if you are lucky and they haven't started spawn camping the runway you can take off and then try to get a kill.

as you can see it's easy japan doesn't need an f16 the Phantom is good enough

to be honest the devs don't care about japan adding the f16 is just a money grab, they know people will think it will be removed when the f2 is added in a few patches so people will race to grind/buy SL for it,

if the devs really cared about japan they would give the f-1 it's aim9L and chaff pods and the IR guidance system for it's bombs and um i don't know it's primary weapons system the ASM-1 active radar homing Anti ship missile (pretty useless but would be nice to try in custom battles)

just saying if it was a russian plane it wouldn't be missing most of it's equipment i mean imagine if the mig23 was only given the R3S instead of the r60 and was completely missing it's air to ground weapons and countermeasures

Big 3 always get spoiled, its where the money is. Honestly I'd rather they just stop pretending to care about Japan or other minor nations, its more of a slap in the face than anything.

I'd rather they take the time to make what japan had/has actually fun instead of a pain; IE like the F-1 you mentioned or fixing the current stuff (nothing screams fun like the ho-ri's at their current BR).

Germany can have fritz-x's, wunderwaffe's, and vehicles from both east and west, Russian can have all its objekt prototypes and the Kronshadt, and US can have and infinite amount of aircraft but God forbid they add something to fill the gaps of Japan.

I wish japan was fun and unique.

To be honest, if they handle the removal well, then I can see this working nicely.

Say once the F-2 is in game, they completely remove the F-16 not only from the japanese tree, but also you can't use it anymore if you researched it and bought it.

If you had it researched, you will have the F-2 unlocked for free, if you had it bought, you have it replaced with the F-2.

The modification research progress is starting from scratch with the F-2, but you get all RP from modifications refunded to freely distribute in your new F-2.

May I ask why some people want the only nation in the game without a 4th gen fighter to remain the only nation in the game without a 4th gen fighter?

Also mentioning the F-2 and F-15 shooting planes across the map like if the F-14 was not a thing so it wouldn't change anything :P

Yea actually i'd rather wait. Gaijin forgot japan a long time ago so if they want to add something, maybe they should go back and take care of some other spots. If you want stop gaps and content, then why dont we have the:

- OI Super heavy 100t & 150t variants
- J7W2 & J7W3
- KI-94 I
- R2Y2 (original piston engine variant)
- G3M
- Ho-Ri II (And Prototype)
- Isuzu AA (Type 94 Lorry with Type 2 cannons)
- Type 5 Ka-To
- Ta-Ha
- Ohka's for the G4M
- G8N2 & G8N3
- G10N1

Etc etc, point being is that i'd rather they stop trying to act like they care OR go all out and make the game enjoyable. this just feels like a half-assed measure from gaijin to say, hey we haven't forgotten you [and your wallets]. enjoy this!

Personally I'd love to see that entire list added but its never gonna happen.

Also, if your endgame goal when picking a nation was jets...why the hell did you choose japan in the first place?!?

Gaijin: Adds an aircraft to Japan's tech tree that realistically would've existed if political winds in the US had shifted and stopped the F-2 program from being successful and to ensure Japan has a worthy Air Combat vehicle for its tech tree that's on par with everyone else's, especially when 4th Generation aircraft are more streamlined and ubiquitous compared to the hodge podge nature of Gen 3 and the disaster that was introducing the MiG-23 and to the game before everyone had a relative equivalent.

All the Examples you gave are the strengths of the EJ Kai.... it has PD, Aim-7F and Aim-9L. The only area it lacks in is turning ability, and if you let yourself get into a turning fight whilst having some of the best BVR that's on you. Not saying Japan didn't need the F-16, but most people just seem to not know how to play the EJ kai.
