meanwhile the best way to work against cheaters is not to advertise and provide free publicity for the cheats and their developers yourself while working in the background against them but i hope this bandaid makes you all feel better at least
It's not about being insecure it's about knowing that the time you take to report cheaters isn't wasted. Clearly their anti-cheat isn't doing a great job, so they kinda of still rely on player reports.
you dont put up one flimsy fence and trust that it is a 100% solution
but people are so insecure they cant either check on the people they report, or if they cant be bothered trust that the reports are doing somthing
next we will be getting complaints from newbies that report people for killing them in ways they dont understand that the 'rampant cheaters' are not getting banned, all for things that any experienced player would know not to be anything of the sort
talking about it is just a whole can of worms, and now outsiders hearing the developers themselves talk about cheats in their game go looking for said cheats
I never suggested they removed the report system, they just stopped putting up the name and shame list once they introduced EAC.
As far as newbies making false claims, hopefully because you need to report via the server replay they will actually notice if it was legit kill or not. Yes there are a lot of inexperienced players crying foul play on the forums and reddit but they generally never watched the replay.
And you suggest that now players will be looking for cheats, but do you not think on the flip side this would act as a deterrent? Would you really want to risk losing an account that has several premium vehicles or rare event vehicles, not to mention the time you have invested into it?
