Is anyone else tired of these absurd special tasks?

I haven't gotten a reasonable special task in ages. Even after paying SL to change it a dozen times its ALWAYS bad. Some of my favorites:

- Kill 70 vehicles in a light tank
- Kill 35 vehicles in an X
- Kill 18 Bombers (good luck doing this in any reasonable amount of time with the XP-50 spam)
- Win 18 games

etc etc.

I get special tasks are supposed to be harder but holy crap why do they have to be extremely grindy. It's not even fun trying to get 70 kills in a light tank.

Given I just play Ground RB, I don't find them too hard. Most of the time I try to get the SPAA kills as I can finish 15 SPAA kills in like 1-3 games using Wirbelwinds and Ostwinds. I don't have much problem getting a doable task for my two dailies and at least one special task per day. Things like repair allies are stupid though. Also hate win conditions on tasks that aren't just win games.

I do special tasks mostly in air AB or naval AB, rarely in ground AB, I do them every day and rarely I'll change the task more than twice.

18 bombers? It's always 10 for me, ezmode. You don't have to play at BR 4 with XP50 spam you know. Some are ridiculous(mission maker anyone?) but can almost always find a reasonable one within 3-4 rerolls at most. One thing I hate tho is when it would be a reasonable task but it has the caveat that you have to win the match you do it in as well as doing whatever the task is. As one player in a team of ~20 you have little control over that..

it isnt really about the tanks, its the crew skills.. work on them and also look who u playing against in the stats, can easy be a bunch of marshalls whos crews will be very superior. also the "light Tank" unfortunately or fortunately include m18's for some Gaijin reason, they are NOT TD's exploit the exploit

today i got kill 10 enemy strike aircraft.

i fly 10.0 BR in a f104g in air arcade. very fun special task, when everyone is USA flying A10s and AV-8s, etc.

I don't know about everyone else but I almost always choose an arcade ground special because they're typically butt easy to do.

Only RB one i've done this week was Help With Repairing x7 which i just got a buddy in a tough vehicle to help me with.

Most tasks you mentioned aren't even that bad. Easily acessible but time consuming.

The ones I hate are those tasks that require more luck than brain cells like the first strike one or those that require functioning team mates (assists, scouts, according to intelligence) that basically require you to play with friends

I do air RB 90% of the time because that's the game mode I enjoy playing the most so I can progress on tasks just by playing as I would anyway, making tasks fun. I will go for particularly ground AB if I get a laughably easy/fast one tho such as kill 4 SPAA. It's really weird how inconsistent they are in regards to how long they should take on average.

Takes a whole weekend to do? I can do some of the ground RB tasks in a single game or maybe as many as just 3. I think the most I did was 4 special tasks in just 2 hours, mostly just SPAA kills and shooting down aircraft. Why would I want to take a while weekend to do a task when I could reroll it for something I can do in 20 minutes?

I get no where in the BP because of the tasks. I'd have to sit there and mindlessly grind out missions that are an overall waste of my time. For example, I played War Thunder for about 2 weeks and maybe 6 or so hours each day and I got up like 3 levels maybe? BP sucks anyway, nothing interesting.

We're talking about playing a computer game, it's never going to not be a waste of time.. Tasks keep my motivation up tbh. Agree that the BP this season is underwhelming in terms of vehicles tho.. But all the rewards besides the vehicles still makes it worth it

So reroll when you get those. Currently I'm doing 15 bases in air RB, excellent opportunity to earn some SL and can be done relatively quickly
