1st time ever playing this game I've had this happen, is this kinda stuff normal?
Enemy player had to pm me and abuse me because I flew back near my teams base and the AA shot him down.

I've played for maybe close to 12 months total on and off casually.

It's quite frequent. A friend of mine once got salted over in PM because he didn't wanted to turn fight some Fw while playing a VB.10-02. Lad flew across half the map on its tail, only to be folded in eight when said friend could finally turn back and heads on it.

T'was the same sort of rant, "coward" this, "uninstall" that, some slurs thrown on the mix. I like to imagine that chasers like this are screaming all the way long, not only when they're imploded by something easily avoidable.

I thoroughly disagree with above statement, it's not a common occurence at all. In the over 800 hours i've played, I can only recall one instance of such a thing.

Best thing to do is to ignore + blacklist and report, don't answer any messages and move on

It's just a pm. Just ignore or troll him back. No reason to take it so seriously as to label it as harassment. If he starts following you around in RL, then maybe sure.

Quite common actually, especially for bomber or squadron players and it is SUPER common for people like me who will troll the enemy team by flying premium/event planes and pretending to be a noob before flying like drunk maverick and slaughtering them, Back when the Mig-23mf came out I got a ton of PM's for doing that, even got a chat ban without ever chatting during the matches, fun times. In any case, PM's are to be expected when you do something dumb, scummy or troll people, its not a major deal and if the harassment continues for a long time then you can just talk to a moderator or send a message to the support team.

If someone insult you in public chat, please use in game complain system (right mouse button on his nickname > complain) and report him (be sure to do it in chat where it happened). Game Masters will get report with log and act if report is valid.
If someone attack you via PM, simply block him (right mouse button on his nickname > add to blacklist). He will not be able to send you any more messages.

There is really no sense to spend more time on frustrated people in internet.

Last week I felt game after game that my vehicle is being singled out for attack by red team players no matter where I'm on the map. Changed tiers but after regular games it would start again.This is followed by expletives, warning about being reported to Game Masters in the post game chat. Also got warning message after logging into the game that there have been 10 complaints etc.
This week after I stopped using a particular vehicle and none of this has reoccurred.
I play with player names toggled off. In game I can only see type of tank. (AB). Been playing for a while but have not encountered this. My two bits.

Yeah thats normal, mostly if instead of landing and leaving the match what you did was prob circle the AAA knowing the AAA will click him out the sky 4km away and the land/ take off again, wich sure is mostly fault of gaijin but at the same time its normal ppl get pissed about it as there is no skill involved, wasting the time of everyone involved because you decided to be a rat.

Then there is the special ppl, the moment the "fight" aint entirely on their favor they run to the airfield knowing they lack the skill to deal with a single enemy even while having a huge energy advantage, how do these ppl know that? because everytime they engage something with more than 2 braincells they get outskilled and DELETED out the match.

Btw no replay? Not surprised at all!
Yall very aware if there wasnt any AAA your overall KDs would be next to 0 right?

Do you know what harassment, stalking, and abuse really are? Lmao. You could of just blocked the guy, but you chose to engage with him and basically did nothing different than him during your brief interaction. only diff is you chose to QQ about it on the forum when you are no better than him. Block and move on.
