i believe they both have basically the same flight performance however the F-8e has a way better choice of armament it can have a wide variety of bombs and rockets has access to 2 bullpup ATGM's and has medium range radar guided missiles.

and since they both sit at the same br the F-8e will be the better of the 2 but has a slightly pricier repair cost but over all its much more worth taking into battle.

the second one in the branch has tougher wings and rips less, so that, i think it's the F8E

Which of the missiles are better? Aim9-C or Aim9-D?

Aim-9C is best used at high altitudes as radar struggles to lock at low altitudes so i would take a mix of both

Pretty much this. F8E's flight characteristics are leaps and bounds better than the F8U-2. F8E basically lets you take full advantage of the airframe's design without fear of snapping off your wings. It can still happen, but it's much less likely to do so.
First one gets RWR, second doesnt but gets radar missiles (they are kinda meh), I prefer the F8U

Both are good for stomping downtiers.

Economical pick is the F-8U. With slightly lower repair cost (16k) then F-8E (18k).

Both are high altitude aircrafts cause of it's tendency to snap in high G turns in low altitudes. And can dogfight decently despite their terrible cannons that jam often.

F-8U has RWR to warn you about mig-21's locking on to you and attempting front-aspect missile. But both have counter-measures and F-8E has AIM-9C, which is good radar missile to insert high altitude dominance with (in own tier and below).

Both have AIM-9D's which are really good when you dive on control zones of unsuspecting enemies down below. With most not having flares. firing them even at 5km range if noticeably faster then target. With good chance of hitting.

If you get lot of 11.3 downtiering to you, life gets harder for the F-8E. No RWR means you need to pay attention for missile trails in the sky. As 4 enemies will have BVR capabilities.

F8E without a doubt.
Wing are more durable+++++
Aim-9c to surprise opponent+++
Having No RWR at that BR is really not a big deal because you can't rely on it for IR missles. It will warn you 1/3 of the times. And almost nobody use/have radar missles at that BR.
