What happened to removing the 10.5 tiger?

I remember a year or two ago gaijin said they'd remove the 105 tiger, what happened to that?

Because there is nothing to replace it with, and one Dev making an off hand remark in a Polish Interview isn't a good thing to base whats going to happen in the game.....

I remember there being a whole announcement over it and everything, people were all in support of it. It's been a bit since I jumped back into WT so I don't know what happened about it.

They never said they would.. They said, they could, during an interview. You remember wrong.

The debate over the Panther II and Tiger II 10.5cm really were more off hand remarks in an interview. They said they would CONSIDER removing, but no "we will remove them". First thing they needed to do is find replacements. For the Panther II, that's easy, a prototype Leopard. But for a Tier V heavy, that's a bit harder.

They would not be "removed" per say either, just hidden. So if they did/do go through with it, it will still be there for people who already own it, just hidden and unresearchable for people who don't.

That never happened, It was 1 Dev who said they could in a Polish interview... They never said they were going to remove it.

the leopard 1 that we currently have IS the prototype.

Well, unless you can provide an article that states otherwise, this is what was said:

A: Such plans have been considered for a long time, but there are no final decisions made about them. The fact is that these vehicles were included in the early stages of the game and it was necessary during this time. But there are a lot of complaints about the “realistic” components. And now we have some other vehicles to replace them. In any case if we do decide to remove them they will simply be hidden on the research tree but will remain for players who already own them.

Huh I recognize that, I figured by the responses I must've remembered wrong but now I remember where I heard about that. Thanks!

It was never a definite, just a possibility. If there isn't much non-paper to replace it with then they won't bother, and replacing it with something else paper (like how some people have asked for the E75) would defeat the whole purpose of removing it in the first place. Same for other paper vehicles like the Panther II and R2Y2's.

The panther II we have is the E-50, the E-75 being a heavy tank with a schmulturm turret.
