Thermodynamics AND OVERHEATING
I was very excited to finally unlock my Ho 229, but now with the introduction of Thermodynamics I feel like smashing my face against a wall. I can't seem to fly for more than a few minutes without my engines overheating, PLEASE PLEASE can anyone get back to me on any tips on how to manage the new Thermodynamics on early jets.

are the engines dying?
if it is just the temp indicator don't worry just remember to put throttle back sometimes, if you are wondering if your engine is overheating or if it is just the thermodynamics just push it to zero and if it goes down it's not a serius problem.

Engine can stay in orange without problem when it start to be red you have to think about needing to reduce throttle soon (putting them at 80% do the trick andd let them cool down slowly), when blinking red you better turn them off asap if you don't want them to get damaged

/\ Yellow tells you that you can continue at that engine power for I believe 5-8 minutes. Red means 2 minutes, and flashing red is telling you that you have less then 1 minute before engine damage, then death.

Ya but at 80% you have no power with stock ho229, and the fact that it shoots all the way back up into the blinking red after running them at 70% for more then 5 min ( which i have tested ) makes no sense,,, there has to be something wrong there. Don't get me worng i think it's kool what they're doing but i just don't think it's work right atm. it's like once they go red there is no way of cooling the engines so u can use them at 100% unless u land.

Just shut them off for 2-3 seconds while in level flight and turn them back on, that nosidives the temperature quickly.

after some more testign i find that keeping your engines at 87% (NO higher) will give you no overheating issues and enough power to accl over 650km on a stock Ho 229, and i was flying around for more then 20min without overheating. Hopefully this helps some other people.

A streamer called Soarin Thunder always keeps his engines at 93 so they won't overheat

That could work with a fully upgraded Ho 229 I don't know for sure my 229 is stock. At 87% the engines stay in the white, they don't even get yellow with more than 20min of flying, this is just my experience under test flight.

sit at 96% throtle it will take ages for you to overheat

thanx A lot I'll defiantly keep trying things out. I have an off topic question, what are the best rounds for the Ho 229? I know everyone says HVAP-T but do they work against air aswell or should I be using Air target ammo for when I want to shoot down aircraft.
DNAKMAMES Apr 20, 2016 @ 8:15am
air target for air and hvap if you are ground pounding

Your results will vary.

Assuming you're a good enough shot HVAP will work, especially if you can aim for the pilot, but thats hard to do in jet combat, even if it's just very early jet combat.

Air Targets in general are loaded with HE rounds which will deal a lot more damage to the structure of a plane.

HVAP-T is good because all rounds are tracers, the air target ammo I find useful at close ranges like 300m (0.3km) while HVAP-T has a faster velocity so it's better for snipping and considering you're facing planes that can be faster than you out of a dive it is way more effective.
Quick side note: never headon in the 229 you have no bulletproof glass so your pilot is exposed.

Thanx guys

I didn't see anything about a change to heat in the latest update notes. What happened?

it was introduced like a month back
