try running the launcher with administrator privileges... right-click War Thunder in your Steam game library -> properties -> local files -> browse local files

this will open the game folder. look for the launcher(.exe) right-click it -> run as administrator

if this doesn't work you should delete the content in the ..\.launcher_upd\ folder and try again.

i assume you already restarted your system ? (just because it often enough fixes different sorts of 'weird' problems within Windows ^^)

...and this is kind of a weird problem since usually the system, administrators and the signed in user should always have full access to the %temp% folder oO

anyway... one more thing you may try is to download and run the latest launcher installer from the warthunder.com website ( http://yupmaster.gaijinent.com/launcher/current.php?id=WarThunderLauncher )

while running the installer you need to set the destination folder (install path) to your current game folder (in the Steam game directory) so it will overwrite the existing launcher files. (upon selecting the game folder you should make sure the launcher isn't adding an additional ..\War Thunder\ at the end ;)

hopefully this works though there is a chance that the same error may pop up =/

forgot to mention that you may be able to play the game even without running the launcher by starting the game directly via the aces.exe in the War Thunder game folder (or the aces.exe in the ..\win64\ sub folder (first one is the 32bit client last one is the 64bit client) - in this case you need to deny the upcoming request to start the launcher!

It depends on what you actually have installed.

Most computers come with some form pre-installed from the manufacturer that you may, or may not have kept. Usually it's McAfee, which I have little experience with. There should be an option to disable it in the program itself though.
