Premium Vehicle Benefits

I’ve been looking into getting my first premium vehicle. I’ve noticed that while some are upgraded version of researchable vehicles, others are exact copies of the vehicle you can research; same BR and exact same stats. So why buy it? Are those GEs just for the research boost? Am I missing something?

As an example the German Befehlswagen Jagdpanther, the premium tank destroyer, has the exact same, well, everything, besides the camo, as the researchable Jagdpanzer V Jagdpanther.

I was leaning towards the Befehlswagen, but now I’m not so sure. Why buy the Befehlswagen, if its researchable counterpart Is the exact same tank? The Befehlswagen cost 6090 GEs, that’s a lot. Especially considering that to buy the Jag V outright, by converting RP to it, would only cost 2223 GEs.

Difference is you get all the upgrades with Premium Vehicles so you don't research them. As well as and increased boost for research while using. Personally I would only go for Premium tanks and aircraft that are unique like the VK 4501 (P), Pz II H, etc.

The only reason to buy them is to get more RP. Which is what Premium is for, same with the account Premium.

With Prem. Tank + Prem. Account you can research the vehicle trees way faster than normal.

Some of the Premiums are unique. Some of them suck, some are good. The other reason to buy a Prem. Tank that has a researchable counterpart is to have another of that tank in your lineup. So you can spawn it more than once.

And hate to break it to you, but converting RP is the biggest waste of GE possible in the game. Should never do it unless you also burn $100 bills for fun in your spare time.

"Upgraded". Sure. Typhoon 1b is objectively inferior to Typhoon 1b/L

Like most people have already said, most of the tanks are just research boosts. All though there are some tanks that dont even exist in the normal trees, some have different attributes then what its original design has. I recently discovered in the Russian tree there is a premium KV-2 that has replaced its 152mm howitzer with a high-velocity anti tank gun(i did not read the caliber).

Why do you say that?

So I'm finding that a lot of the higher end premium tanks are just duplicates, or very close, to researchable tanks. The lower tanks seem to be a bit more unique. That's not really a question just more of a frustrated observation.

Premium planes seem to be pretty unique as far as Ive seen. But I'll have to do more research.
