I completely agree with you OP, no love for the large amount of AU and NZ players it seems.
in addition (to the already subpar connection between Australia and south asia or the rest of the world in general) in the last couple of months there have been a few problems with some submarine cables in that region so the internet traffic had to be rerouted through other connections. this on it's own may already have raised the latencies but also brought those other connections / channels to their limits which for sure didn't help ;)
one more thing.... at least in one of the latest events players got rerouted to other (all) servers when they had to wait more than 4 minutes for a battle to start. i tested this myself on the SA server. i dont know if this is still happening or if this is happening in 'normal' battles at all (may have been related to that one event or events in general only) buf definitely something to have an eye on imo.

The issue is that the server is either always down, devoid of players or completetly impossible to connect to from the land down under due to magical dickery I cannot comprehend. The current SA server in Singapore is significantly worse than, for example, the US server because of its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ location. It takes so long to connect that you just get kicked. I was able to connect easier to the SA server a couple of years ago when I played on it but then you just end up with 400-600 ping. It's better than the 800-999 you'll get from the US, RU or EU servers but, because it's impossible to connect to at all, that doesn't really count for much.
In theory, it could lead to lower pings but because of crappy planning on Gijin's part it's impossible to use.
Dealing with people flying sideways is something I've put up with for a long time and I'm sick of it. I know it's never going to happen. I know Gijin don't give a rat's left testicle about us. I just had to vent (hense the salt everywhere in the OP). Nothing's going to change and I know that. It's either going to be deal with potato-powered internet and crappy connections or find something else to play that cares about Australian players.
The only ~400 ping server is the SA server, which is always down, depopulated or dying. Everything else for those of us on the East coast you're looking at a 800-999 ping. Only at that level to tanks think they're submarines. Assuming "Hey, can we maybe fix the SA server properly so it's not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken all the time?" is out of the question. Since, of course, they've had 2 years to fix that issue and haven't even attempted it. Again though, it's not like I actually expect Gijin to do anything. They don't care. I just needed to vent.
How much does it cost ?
