Launcher forcing way too many connections
Way too many p2p connections.... completely crashed my internet, along with my computer. Download speed slowly stops, and occasionally spikes. My 150% booster will go to waste if I can't update :( Pls help me.

I would post this in "Technical Problems/Advice", but that sub forum is sleepy compared to "General Discussions".

There is no way to limit the amount of connections made by the launcher using standart software.
This thing annoys me in most of the p2p game downloaders.
BTW You routers firware may hjave an option to limit total amount of connections.

Try this, when looking at the launcher, top right, there is a wrench icon. Click on it, and deselect all of those boxes that allows Gaijan to highjack your computer and bandwidth. I did this a year or so ago and never looked back

I did that.. it updated fine, but as soon as I launched the game, internet crashed and forced a router restart..... And this just happens to occur when they are sales.

I have never had the game crash. (knock on wood) Have you asked your isp if anything was up? I am certain it is not some nefarious plot to keep you from taking advantage of sales :)

Isp is fine, it's just the home internet. Happened yesterday when I first posted. It is unlikely that the isp's failure would coincide with War Thunder launching.

Ahh, that was my last thought,., I am out of ideas.. sorry. try Gaijans support. Best I can suggest. Good luck.

Welp, it seems that there are no solutions, other than to let Gaijin suck my internet dry without any sort of consideration. The only way to get rid of this problem is to disable P2P exchange, and there are no settings for that.

in no way possible is the servce responsible for "crashing your internet" you simply do not understand how your isp works. if your experiencing stops and slows its because your not on a normal connection. you can check your internet speed from one of the many different sites that offer it. As for crashing your pc, you either A. dont even remotely support games, or B. have some forum of virus, malware, ect. if war thunder is crashing then the game is at fault. check your hardware to especially your psu. i know back in 14' late december my psu caught fire inside, it still worked but my computer crashed with a black screen and later i found out after smelling smoke comming out of it.

The launcher is forcing me to take on 70+ p2p connections at once. I already checked to make sure my connection is nominal - it works very well, until I launch War Thunder, at which point my bandwidth is strangled. I have a large amount of games, so I'm pretty sure that I "support games", including internet heavy games such as BF4. If I had a virus or malware, then this problem would be everywhere, not just War Thunder. Even if the virus infected War Thunder only, and not something more important such as System 32, then I would be alone on this problem. Based on other threads posted here and on the WT forums, I'm not. The PC crashed because of erratic behavior of the launcher - it was going crazy just before crashing (I was also doing trial-and-error tests with the settings). War Thunder did crash last time I tried to play. If my PSU was broken, then other people in my house would not be having the same internet problems any time I try to play.

ok first off, im on a cable network and i never have problems with warthunder. second, we have 3 pcs operating in the same household and no one has problems including one that streams videos. third. i only get about 2.6 MBps here when im the only one on the net. my game has never crashed and my pc sure as heck has never crashed. also warthunder is a peer to peer game, you cant do much about it unless you dont want to play it. Ive played some pretty intense games myself including overwatch, heros of the storm, battlefield 4, grand theft auto online, planetside 2, ark. and this is on the lesser of the intenisty for games. i can and have dled games in the background while playing this game and i haven't noticed a massive game changing speed yet. the only time i ever had problems was my laptop was losing connection because we had a faulty router. so if anything it could be the router needs some ports blocked. else its a very marginal minority of players experiencing this.
also if it has todo with warthunder you should post it to there fourm because steam users can only help so much.

You offer me little help, and you obviously have not looked at my library. All you have told me is that my PC sucks, my internet sucks, and that my problem exists because I don't have an oh-so-good cable internet like you do. I have run games with 100+ players AND high graphics just fine. If you're going to post something that is completely meaningless to me, then please don't post at all.
