Honestly though, I would epxpect it to be raised a bit at some point. It may not be fast, but the gun is decent and the armor is thick all around.
If i had to choose between the Zis-6 and 220, the 220 will win hands down!
Germany has a couple of 5.3 and below tanks that can oneshot it if aimed right below or into the turret ring, namely the Jpz4/long 75, the Nashorn, D-Max, Kv-2(r) but those aren't as common as the later tiger tanks in tier 3 matchmaking.
Just pray that you'll get uptiered to 6.3 with your teammates consisting of Panthers, Tiger H and Tiger 2 (P) or else it's *GG* russia...
Well, from my experience the ZiS-6 has performed better so far. The KV-220 can quite possibly one shoot any tank it will encounter, but the ZiS-6 basically will one shoot any tank it encounters.
Anyway, the point was that if they haven't increased the BR of the ZiS-6 there is no reason to increase the BR of the KV-220. Of course, more people might whine about the KV-220 because it's an event tank, while the ZiS-6 seems to have gone completely under the whine radar.
that thing is so blatently undertiered. it has to get a nerf.and im sure it will.
it reminds me of when Tu-4 was first introduced in the game.
I don't really have any experience with the Tu-4 as I don't play planes much at that BR, but I guess that it was the most dedicated players who got it first, as it usually is with new stuff. And then everybody else is whining how OP it is when it's really just performing better because it's played by more dedicated players.
Basically in summary
The only way to kill this Russian op armored monster at 5.3
Is one with an Russian op gun monster at 5.3
The 107mm with APHEBC on the Zis-6 outperforms the Tiger H1s 88mm anyday of the week.
no, basically any new vehicle, and especially event vehicles are played by players more experienced than the average player, so they seem to be OP
Look at the British tanks. We had tons of people whining about how OP the British tanks where, so they increased the BR on a lot of them and made them a lot harder to play for the average player than tanks from other nations with the same BR. In fact they only seemed to be OP because the majority of the people who played them first were from the more experienced part of the player base.
The KV220 has the 85mm, same as the T-34-85 (D-5T) and the Su-85mm without the extra ammo loadouts.
Its armor is completely 100mm on all sides except the back end of the engine. However, the turret itself is 100mm on all sides except the gun mantlet (which a little angling, it too goes above 100mm)
Side scraping, the side armor of the KV220 easily exceeds 200mm, far more than even the Panther's long barrel 75mm can penetrate and naturally, you'd want to shoot that side armor if you didnt know any better.
Which is difficult because:
A), You don't know the layout of the KV220
B) The 85mm with APHEBC is perfectly capable of penning anything at 5.3
C) The KV220 has 6 crewmembers, even when a round penetrates, depending on the KV220 crew, the'll easily replace him/them in a timely manner.
