Anyway, Gaijin never bothered to change the original pricing. The Mig-17 is cheaper to buy than the Mig-15bis.
Could very well be for Gaijin apologizing for Germany players back in 2014 for only having the Me-163 and the Me 262 A-1a as its top end jets.
Even Japan only had the Ki-200 :P
It was abused a LOT when the Raidens came out. They were faster than the Americans at that tier and still turned better.
Another example is the Ki-84 Ko and you compare its repair cost with the Otsu and Hei variant. You can tell at a glimpse its doing too good against its opponents.
On top of that another 1M+ to get expert crew, and probably another million or so to get the upgrades. If you can barely afford a plane it means that actually you can't afford it.... yet.
Hence it is a good idea not to rush down the tech tree but actually play your planes.
