Warthunder displays Xbox buttons

Was playing last night night, everything was fine. Went to bed. Woke up in the morning and now the game has Xbox buttons plastered all over the damn thing. I have never used a controller with warthunder (nor do I ever plan to). Anyone know how to get rid of these buttons?

As an example swapping nation in the hanger displays the Right Bumper and the Left Bumper, To Battle displays the X button and so and so forth. It changes where some of the buttons are to actually perform actions, exmaple when selecting an aircraft in arcade mode instead of selecting an aircraft up the top, I need to select up the top then select down the bottom of the screen to fly the darn thing.

As a heads up there was no controller plugged in at any point over the last week.

go to menu -> game options -> interface -> use interface with gamepad (2nd option from the top)
and disable it

This option is gone now and I have the same problem in VR

the option got renamed and moved to a different submenu
options -> main parameters -> gamepad settings -> use interface with gamepad

I am glad he did. I had the problem and this helped me fix the problem

Is this still a thing? I can't find this in the Options menu now days. I have searched everywhere.

the option just got renamed to 'Gamepad User Interface' but it's still in
options -> main parameters -> gamepad
