Why isn't the Yak-9K good?
It has the 45mm, so why isn't it good?

Personally, the same issue for me that a lot of Soviet aircraft have and that is a lack of ammo. The 45mm can shread a wing or the rear of a plane off, but you need to be accurate and make good use of just 29 shells. I would take the 9T with the NS-37 as you can take a mix of AP and HE, or either one (but I still don't like the lack of ammo).

Hmm doesnt really look like an attack plane to me.

It's good in AB where you get in-air reload to counter the lack of ammo.

Still in Ground RB it's not a bad plane as it is very effective both against planes and tanks.

P.S. from my observation, I don't fly it.

It isn't really a good attacker, because it lacks a ground belt that can pen tanks. The only ground is could pen is light armor vehicles.

i find it the best plane in the yak tree as long as you aim very carefully

What even is this thread... the 9K is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lit bro. Even in rb it only take one or two hits to kill a plane with the 45. i mean i usually die b/c its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow, but i usually get 2 or 3 kills in RB in a regualr match

Just learn how to aim the 45mm and in the right hands of an excellent pilot this thing is very deadly

Because with how the hit detection works in this game it's better to have a very fast firing small cannon than a really big slow firing cannon. You simply have a better chance at the shots registering.

Let me give you a little history bout the Yak 9T and the Yak 9k variants well if a pilot shot the 37 or the 45 they would literally rock back and forth in the cockpit ehh fast?

37mm in the 9T, not terrible:

Recoil from the 45mm in the 9K, quite bad:

Favourite goes to the 37mm in the P-39 though:

The yak 9 K is an amazing plane in the right hands, but utterly useless in inexperienced ones. The 45 mm cannon one shots every plane, minus a few bombers, and is an amazing asset in the air. The problem that most people have with it is that they cannot connect with the other enemy planes. Most still spray and dont conserve their ammo, or try to snipe from afar where the cannon's accuracy greatly decreases. My suggestion for you is to get in really close, i never take a shot with the 9k on another planes unless I'm 0.4 km or closer to them . Even then i judge and infer where they will be going next due to the ememy plane's position and then fire with appropriate lead. It's a formidible plane when handled with an expierenced pilot but cannon fodder for anyone else.

Thats the only thing balanced about soviet planes. if they had as much ammo as americans they'd be unstopable
