F4U-1d Arrestor Hook?
So I notice when I drop gear, there is what appears to be an arrestor hook at the very end of the craft just back from the small wheel (as would make sense since the Corsairs were naval fighters, and even Marine squadrons took off from carriers). However, it does not seem to extend enough to catch anything.

I tried landing it once on a carrier, coming down gently on the wires, however there was no catch, and I went right off the deck as my engine was turned off and I couldn't turn it on and throttle up in time to save myself.

1. Is that indeed a modeled and working arrestor hook?
2. Is there now a key you have to bind to work arrestor hooks separate from gear?

All Naval aircraft have an arrestor hook that automatically deploys when you have your landing gear deployed and are lining up on a carrier to land.

Ok, as I figured, so then, refer to where it didn't catch and explain to me why.

Or is Gaijin not counting Corsairs are carrier planes?

You didnt catch it, it takes some practice and some times you will break your propellers.

I've landed just fine on carriers since I have been playing since 2014.

It didn't catch cause there wasn't anything to catch where the hook hit the deck.

Line it up and come in at about 190kmh. When you touch down, pull up to force your hook to stay on the deck longer so it can catch one of the cables.

So I notice when Update 1.59 was out, there is what appears to be the modification of add-on armor for IS-2 "Revenge (as would make sense since IS-2-1944 got Add-on Armor, and "Revenge" is just premium IS-2-44). However, it does not seem to show or even exist in model.

I tried check and uncheck the modification, watching if it was going to turn on, however there was add-on armor, and I went right off to battle and I couldn't see the add-on armor on my IS-2

1. Is that indeed a modeled joke?
2. Is there now a bug Gaijin has to resolve to add-on armor work properly?

After some time, I realized no-one cares about my IS-2 "Revenge, even posted on WT forums...

They may fix it later on, but it is not that big of a problem. It's just thin wire mesh around the turret that I highly doubt would stop anything. It's more or less there just to look nice (sort of). Knowing how WT works though, it may stop HE and HEATFS (as they detonate on anything they hit) but I don't know if it is modeled correctly (as the wire mesh would not stop the jet of molton copper from hitting and penetrating the tank).

I have seen it, and actually what I would love to know if those mesh affect (a lot) IS-2 Speed as I heavily rely on IS-2 speed rather than armour.

I don't think any tank with add-on armor is affected in terms of speed. But if they are, this would not affect. It is (as you have probably seen) thin metal (almost chicken) wire with what look like metal bed frames welded on to hold it there.

I'm confused, because it says in the information panel for the F4U USMC that one of the pros are that the cockpit is higher as better suited to land on carriers. Then, in cons, it says, 'Lack of arrestor hook.' Why would it be better to land on carriers, then not have a hook?

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the thread topic, at all.
