Should I download or not?
I just finished reading PC Gamer's review of this. I have to say, it made me want to check this out, if only for its dogfights. But all the reviews for this are HORRIBLE. So, people who regularly play, is it a decent game? What are its pros and cons?
Thanks.

P.S. I know that it's free-to-play. (Because I just know someone's gonna bring that up)

Try it out, definitely. Very easy to learn, with different difficulty modes (Arcade, Realistic, Simulator) for different tastes. If you have got tired of flying for a bit, you can hop onto a tank.

The guy above me said "no", but he's still playing the game... (as of the moment I wrote this.)

Give it a try, it's free anyway.

I read the same thing on PCgamer too. I trust them at 50 %. Best thing to do is try it by yourself, all you lose is bandwidth. For myself Im gonna pass. Im really bored with free games and early acces I just want a finished, no buggy and fun game. Dont get me wrong, there some free to play that are jewel like Team fortress 2 and path of exile.

Pros - Good graphics, sweet rendering on the planes, cross platform. Can be fun to play.

Cons - Battle ratings and teirs
small squads numbers and paying for squadrons
intentional teamkillers
random freezing in game causing you to crash
no map selection in arcade just random maps over and over...getting tedious
grinding for endless hours to unlock a jet
dying from mig-9's when you're only in teir four planes

...other than that, it's awesome

I have a love-hate relationship with this game. More often than not, the reason I die is because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. For example, my first game in the Tiger II when I had just got it was on Jungle. While driving across the bridge, there was a lag spike, throwing me off the bridge and landing upside down. That brings me to the second point, which might be just me, since Comcast sucks donkey dong; the lag. Its difficult to navigate the menus, since EVERYTHING is handled server-side, and there's a huge delay to do nearly anything. However, I have renewed hope after viewing the recent patch notes, where they have uptiered Russia significantly. Kudos to Gaijin for swallowing their pride.

It's a good game from really easy modes to really hard modes. If your a dogfighter, or a avation lover then this is the game for you.

YES.

Play for free, great game despite idiotic MM and BR and repair cost.

I really like it, it just takes a while to research stuff, as it should. I never have any bugs or crashes either.

Love this game. Play it almost everyday and been here since the alpha. It takes a while with grinding, but I found that rather fun. To work for your next wonderful plane. Currently into jets with several nations.

Check it out. The beginning is rather boring... but if you are through that and dedicate to a nation, this game becomes so addicting!

War Thunder is a must play! Graphics are brilliant, controls are easy and the whole thing is just bliss. It is not a pay to win game and holds plenty of variation in its vast community. I admit, at the start is a bit slow when you get dissapointed at flying a biplane (in most countries) rather than a Spitfire, a Zero or a Liberator. But if you are dedicated to the game it is worthwhile! I would say it is the best game if you are just looking for a dogfight without going through manuals etc. The best thing is that it will incorporate not just planes but the army and navy together in the future. When it is finally officially released, it will be a game you simply can't nod down!

Try it out, but prepare for the bull$hit that's Gaijin is doing, mostly this is why a lot of people giving up on this. (Me aswell) If they figure out how to treat the players and manage to create a better system i'll check it out again, maybe.

As much as Gaijin is trying to sabotage this game, this is definately still worth a shot if you have even a passing interest in air combat. If you are quite into air combat games, then the mechanics and flight systems are just about perfect. If you are not, gather 3 drunk friends and derp around at tier 1 doing stupid stuff. Who knows, you might just discover an interest in flight sims you never knew you had. I would recommend starting with either the arguably OP low tier Russians, or the not OP but still easy to learn Brits.
