Choose yours. One of the worst maps, if not the worst.
Volokolamsk main problem is that, flanking to the North-east is impossible because of mini-hills, and to the north-west, the forest helps flankers.
So basically Gaijin is telling you waht to do...
I do aggree I don't like it neither, but it isn't in my #1 Hate list.
Karelia is only bad when 3/4 of both teams get stuck in the easily-avoidable chokepoint on the eastern edge of the map, despite there being no reason to go there.
It seems you're using a different ULQ than everyone else, because recently someone made a comparison between both ULQ and Ultra High, and in ULQ, things like fences and entire walls disappeared at a certain distance, this is more noticable in Poland and Stalingrad map.
Bushes are also smaller and in lesser numbers.
Grass is also invisible.
Do not try to deny it, there is a huge advantage to using ULQ. You peasant turds love that advantage.
If you are going to upgrade good for you, you don't even need a top rate PC to play this game on ultra, ffs, it's a 3 year old game. A 250$~300$ pc is more than enough, and that's dirt cheap nowadays.
Good for you, I have over 100fps with maxed out quality. It isn't hard to get that much frames in a 3 year old game.
Volokolamsk isn't a bad map, I actually like it, it's amazing if you know how to play, I have several replays of me getting 8+ kills on that map, and even have one where I got 15 kills! On tanks RB.
All while using a M10 achilles.
It has been suggested many times, but their excuse for not removing it is that a big part of the War Thunder's population (the russians obviously) play in ♥♥♥♥♥♥ computers from 90s and they do not want to lose the money income (which is probably really small or even null) from those people.
