Also depends on the shell being fired which you can never guess. Solid AP will probably bounce against angled armor. With a cap, it has a slightly better chance. APCBC has roughly the same chance as APC. But APCR has the least chance to penetrate angled armor.
Then you get to APDS, APFSDS, HEAT, HEATFS, and HESH. High velocity APDS and APFSDS will probably not protect against a slope that much. HEAT (not HEATFS) will probably bounce against well angled amor better as they are low velocity, still blunt nosed shells, and WWII HEAT was not that reliable. HEATFS with the electric primer though is usually going to go through amor even at very steep angles if it has the penetration. HESH is in its own weird spot so not worth getting into.
TL;DR: Most people angle, especially in Tier III-IV where it becomes most effective as armor values are often thicker all around, and flat armor is almost always going to be penetrated.
♥♥♥♥ side armour and reverse speed? youre probably not best off side scraping
sorry Panthers
great side armour and decent reverse? side scrapping if your jam.
yay Tiger 1s
why reply to a 1+ year old thread
