How the HELL do i edit config for Steam launch?!
I'm losing my mind over this game. Tried to launch it for 2 days and there only problems and nothing good yet.

My PC is very weak, so i can't even launch the game through Steam, it's outright crashes with the message about minimal requirements.

BUT WHEN i run the launcher in the War Thunder folder, i can set the lowest settings and minimal client which is work perfectly. Why can't i do the same for the Steam?

I tried to edit the config file, but it's seems it's affect only non-steam launcher. There is lowest configs in the file which non-steam launcher uses, but when i press PLAY on Steam, it's tries to load regular version which can't work on my low end PC.

HOW DO I EDIT SETTINGS FOR STEAM LAUNCH?!
I don't see any more config files.

Hmm, if you are in the Steam client, and press the "Play" button in your Steam library with WT selected, it (Steam) should actually ask you what to do:
Options should be:
1. "Play War Thunder"
2. "Launch Manual Game Update"
3. "Launch War Thunder in Steam VR Mode"

The second option should take you to Gaijin's launcher (launcher.exe in WT's folder).

There are ways to set some settings via the command line to start the game (right click game in the Steam Library -> "Properties..." -> "General" -> "LAUNCH OPTIONS").

But why do this?

Just create a link on your Windows desktop to the launcher.exe in your WT folder and start Gaijin's launcher from there.

If you login via a Steam account or a Gaijin account can be selected in WT's login dialog (choose the wrong one and your account may seem "empty", then select the other login method next time, and all your progress will still be there).

There is no need to start the game from the Steam client or a Steam URL ("steam://rungameid/236390").

Just use Gaijin's launcher to update and start the game.

"Launch Manual Game Update" does nothing for me. It's just looks like game is starting for few seconds and then stop.

Also i need to play it through steam, because when i use launcher, played time doesn't count and i can't get the achievements.

I hope i just don't understand something.

If your PC is too weak to launch the game via Steam, then don't.

Steam play time won't be counted. No Steam achievements?
Who cares?

Start directly via WT's launcher.exe and be happy.

After a big update, launcher.exe's updates often work more reliable than Steam ones.

In the login dialog, you can select if you want to login via Steam account or Gaijin account. And you can bind one to the other and vice versa. Just google on Gaijin's support web pages about (Steam/Gaijin) account linking.

Steam game play times and achievements are just for show.
No need to have them.

If you buy stuff in-game via Gaijin's online web store, you'll pay LESS than what you'd pay via Steam.

There is no need to use Steam for WT.
