Do I need to know how the load order of camos was changed so it takes less time and memory to load them? Nope
Do I need to know what files were rearranged and how to knock 2 seconds off the time it takes to load into battle? Negative
Do I need to know what old and outdated files were updated to work with a new game engine update or were taken out? You better believe I don’t
So yeah, I’m fine with it. Sure there are some updates where armor thicknesses may change by 5mm for x part of y vehicle that I’m never going to play or notice, and I wish those were included, but I can always find those on Reddit with the “unofficial patch notes” thread.
no id proberbly scroll past that part to and get to the more intersting stuff like changes to maps and such
id frankly just rather read them on Gaijinns official patch notes(i wish) than have to go elsewhere.
As I said in my last paragraph, I can find that info on Reddit easily enough. I don’t have a problem with not every last single character change to a line of code not being in a patch note. I can’t imagine a single casual or even average player who would like to read through hundreds or thousands of changes lines of code on a single patch note. That’s not arrogant to say it’s just the way the world works. We’re not all game devs. There are a select few that have taken it upon themselves to do so and choose to cherrypick and share info with others, and that’s all we really need.
Exactly my point above
Ideally I’d like if things like minuscule armor changes or things like “moves this group of buildings from ‘here’ to ‘here’ were added too. Or the specific formula to figure out my RP and SL earnings when they changed from the previous system to the linear system, but we don’t live in an ideal world, and those patch notes could quite literally take days or weeks to type up, not to mention for larger overhauls like in game engine reworks and major patch notes.
Instead we have the Reddit and forum community to pick out anything deemed important broadcast it.
learn russian, sure the original contain more detail that dont translate well or at all. but it seems ok what they post in english atm to me and I see your point but even other games don't tell all.
dude thats the arrogant part.
you know it isnt hard or even very timeconsuming to add small things, like,"reduced size of map X" or "reduced post pen spread on shell X".
but really, they should just man up and stand by what they do.
Gaijin's patch notes are horrible, not only do they not list everything, they don't even list all the important stuff. Having to rely on third party websites and dataminers posting their findings there is just downright unprofessional garbage. Sure, there are plenty other studios which are the same, but that doesn't make it any better.
For many casual and average players, changelogs are ignored. New updates are as well. Not that many take the time to actually read through the changelogs and fewer still have any urge to delve into the game’s files and find minuscule things that may have not been deemed worth a mention on the devblog/changelog.
I apologize if you think that’s an arrogant thing to say, but that’s the reality of many games and communities out there.
