The velocity with which a bullet or shell leaves the muzzle of a gun.
Aka the speed of the bullet travels.
Pretty sure you would notice by now how fast the bullet travels before it hits you and if you have good reflex to move away before it hits you.
So thats all it does? Theres no other affect other than bullet speed?
Well you could also arc the bullet and make it into a self Arty provided you know how to Math
And generally speaking shells with higher velocity tend to have better penetration
Shell leaves the barrel faster, so,
>Shell travels though the air faster (amount it slows down/drops more in range is determained by the aerodynamics of the bullet).
>Higher speed means more KEP penetration at close range, it’s the opponent with more force at closer range (amount of penetration lost over range like above is determained by shell type/aerodynamics).
>Shell has less bullet drop over X distance.
Everyone can snipe but the Factor is the Distance, your Angle of Aiming and your Reaction to dodge a shot. So its Important.
*Shrug* I just wont consider sniping as an advantage to any one nation like it is in WoT's. If everyone can do it, its not an advantage.
>Rank II US I wouldn’t snipe with Sherman 75s for example, but the M10 I do.
>I wouldn’t snipe in a Churchill, but with a 17pdr tank I defiantly would.
>probably not the best idea in a T-34-76 or a KV-1, but their TDs can be nasty at range.
>Pz IIIs and short barreled Pz IVs probably not, but long barreled Pz IVs and StuGs defiantly can.
etc.
Though I never enjoyed it especially the German premium Churchill ._. No TNT Shells
I LOVE my churchill Mk 7 though and yes its front line.
You can try to snipe with let's say Tiger 1-2 with their high velocity 88mm (the best mid range canon) and with Brummbar, and feel differences
the faster you round is going the more pen and less time for them to react
