What happened with t64a's armour?

BR compression and the advance of weapons, when it came out, most tanks used ‘60s tanks and ammunition. We have entered the ‘80s, and most vehicles it faces uses mid-late ‘70s era ammunition.

When it came out, the biggest threats were the MBT/KPz-70, and to an extent, the M60A1 RISE. Granted, the MBT/KPz could unlock an APFSDS that could penetrate the hull (especially at closer ranges), but still came stock with HEAT and ATGM's that the T-64A's armor was great at stoping. At the same time, the 125mm had no problem tearing into any of those targets.

Just two patches later, the Leo 2K, M1 Abrams, and Chally came out that could deal with the T-64A (but the T-64B was also added), and just 1 patch later the Leo 2A4 and Type 90 came that could quite easily deal with the T-64's. It was a VERY powerful tank for a short time, but other nations got their equal and eventually superior.

The Armor got a HUGE nerf, you can literally pen it with the APDS on the Leopard 1.

Tbh it’s no 9.3 material it needs to be lowered to 9.0, rn the USSR is suffering because of XM-1 spam but they don’t have any 9.0s of their own (nobody owns the T-62) so the typical 9.0 match looks like this :

USA : Full of XM-1s
USSR : Some T-55AMS and T-62s and sometimes even T-10ms but no actual 9.0

I have no idea why Gaijin hasn’t done anything yet...

they even moved it from 9.0 to 9.3. and they do horribly , constant uptiers against M1 and ATGM helis, enjoy your 30% winrates.
in all seriousness, i think ive had 2 downtier battles in total with my T-64a, in 200+ battles.
ive also seen my 9.7 cost 100SP to spawn, that means that its a 9.7-10.7 battle and theres no limit to how many 10s a team can have.

The T-64A is too good compared to most 9.0s.

But not the best at 9.3.

Don’t even bother asking for it to go 9.0, it’ll just get uptiered 9/10 times, and we all know it is not the perminant solution for it. So far, there is only one true solution that I know of that could fix all ta ms rank 3-6...

The XM-1? That tank is pretty stupid fighting 8.0s and stuff, but even it isn’t as good as a T-64A with composite hull and turret, and a 125mm gun.

Composite hull that can be penned by a Leopard 1, sure, not sure if you noticed but they nerfed the Armor of the T-64A to oblivion.
