Do the US Tanks just really suck?

I looked into the history of the US Tech tree, Everything is getting pushed up ranks and not being on the same Armor Penetration level/Armor level, 76 Jumbo used to be 5.7 and now its 6.3 and gets up-tiered with Tiger II's and Ferdinand. the jumbo's m62 has 150 mm of pen APCBC and the Tiger 2 gets 237 mm of pen and has a tun more armor then the Jumbo. This isn't just the only example but a really confusing one, in no way is the jumbo comparable to a Tiger II and anytime i used to see one i would literally try to ignore it the best of my ability cus the only way i'm getting a kill is if the Tiger II is blind, deaf, and dumb.

US tanks don't really suck, but you must understand that many of their vehicles are generalists. They have a little bit of everything but they master none until higher tiers. Light tanks are an exception, American light tanks tend to be pretty good at their role.
Some vehicles might be overtiered but most are decently placed (there are many factions that have it extremely worse, and then there's Germany which gets lower BR's for vehicles that aren't adecuate for the tier they're in). About Tiger players being deaf and blind, most are. Remember that the Big 3 tend to attract more new players, and Germany is by far the most popular and also has a lot of people that are really dense, that only play Germany and barely know how to play the game.

Try Sherman m2 at 4.0, it's fine

its not just that, i get the us is a jack of all trades but it feels like a jack-off-gaijin for basic trades, so much grinding and so much work for messily results, the super perishing is the only tank i feel that belongs in its tier (i don't have much higher then that and i bet higher up tanks are better) but its just such a grind and a painful one at that

It's often sadly a "skill issue".
Many complain because they are bad and try to push the wrong on anything but themselves.
Vehicles get balanced by statistics and the Jumbo seems to have seal clubbed really really hardcore to get uptiered.

US 5.7 is kinda crazy of how strong it is.
Its one of my favorites.
Once you enter 6.0+ you will slowly be dragged into hell anyway as 7.0+ tanks will be waiting with Heatfs to blast your tank regardless of armor.

So you could say anything with 6.3+ gets kinda rekt by the 7.3 tanks. US 7.7 can also really kick 6.7 tanks in the balls .
I really don't think all US tanks are bad. Just that some tanks in the game have a nonsense br as they only balance by statistics.

Where can the jumbo pen a Tiger II? the sides? ya but the only way a jumbo is gonna be able to shoot a tiger II in the sides is in urban combat and no one in their right mind would bring a tiger II into a city without 6 other tanks. i'm not saying i'm the best player but i have a side tree for germany and i just seal club all the uptierd vehicles and its sad cus they can't pen me anywhere

The Jumbo can pen the Tiger II P's turret that has the same 6.3 br. Sure, the Tiger II will still oneshot you most likely. In an uptier the II H is another story, but taking the Jumbo as an example of how bad the US vehicles are in general is a bad approach.
The Pershing sitting at 6.3 has a much better chance dealing with those.

The Jumbo seal clubbed in downtiers way to hard and it felt for 4.7 tanks what you feel now against tiger 2's. Impossible to penetrate.

I don't think 6.3 is justified but it's alot better than 5.7.

It's honestly because people playing the German tree just think their tanks are invincible and they play dumb and get killed by jumbos. So Gaijin sees the jumbo almost always beats them when they're really quite even so they increase the br. This is also why the M4A3 76 is at 5.7 even thought its armour is practically paper at that br. Not to mention the Germans have much higher velocity so good luck on bigger maps.

The 5.3 line-up is one of my favorites of all nations, I find the tanks super versatile and with more than adequate penetration
