I also have this problem, (I don't have the ability to check right now) but it may be linked to either being windowed, or graphics card / driver

Windowed. Fullscreen. Borderless. Nothing helps. It might be driver? Newest Nvidia GTX 950?

Did you have a past problem were you couldnt start warthunder because it crashed everytime on hitting play? and the fix was optting into the "Work-In-Progress" client

Nope. It crashes now and then, sure, but never on start.
Also I'm using non wip client.

but gta 5 have this problem whit almost all players.
You have to click 6-7 times to take the proper screenshot
Sometimes i Borderless it is faster,you click 3-4 times
Tha works for me on gta 5 a,it is on Borderless and i have to click 3-4 times and than it will be a god picture
Try on this game that ,use Borderless and clcik 3-4 times

wait on settings on start up you can select what file type you want the image to be saved as, if you try selecting/ deselcting what it ahs chosen that might work *I stress might*

yes you have high quality JPEG ,un-check that ,maybe it will help

Nope. I guess you're both talking about the JPEG switch in the War Thunder menu? I don't know why would that help. It didn't btw. Over 3k screens of over 200 games, and only War Thunder doesn't wanna work. And even that, only after one of the patches.

Few months ago everything was cool, and working.

@Edit: Ah, also I can take over 20 consecutive blank screenshots in a row. It just won't go away. And I'm using borderless on dialy basis.

are you doing the screenshots via F12 (to get them into the Steam screenshot folder) or via the print screen button ?

either way - what happens if you use the other button (print screen will put the screenshot into the ..\War Thunder\screenshots\ folder by default) ?

did you change (or try changing) the keybind for 'screenshots without interface' in the controls settings of WT (menu -> controls -> miscellaneous) ? by default this option is bound to F12 as well and maybe it's somehow interfering with the Steam default keybinding ?!

you may also try to change the hooking behaviour of WT - even though i dont really think it's necessary and most likely will not change anything it may still be worth a try ^^ to change this you need to open the config.blk located in the WT main game folder and add the following line

hooks:b=yes

or change it if you already got it (but it's set to no) - you can open the config.blk with any text editor (notepad, wordpad, editor etc). (the line can be placed at the top of the config.blk)

last but not least... do you have a nVidia videocard and run Geforce Experience by any chance?
in this case you could check the sharing options in GFE and see if disabling them makes any difference (just saying since GFE or rather the sharing options have been causing different issues in WT in the past - maybe this one is related as well ^^ who knows /shrug)

@Edit: K, I have no idea, how to even check the options in GFE. I can see however 2 War Thunders in my games list, so there's that. So far, nothing.

Except, screenshots work when loading, for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason.
