Drones rearming
I spent like 3 minutes gliding down from 4 km to land on a helibase with the Orion drone and it didn't even let me re-arm or repair. Why not? The only reason people consider drones OP is because they spawn above radar FOV, but you wouldn't have that problem with a drone taking off from a helibase or airfield, so it would essentially just be an unmanned Po-2 (in terms of size(?) and speed, not actually a Po-2) with 2 AGM's flying at like 200 meters altitude well within SAM range.

Have to land on the airfield, not the heli bases.

Strange, regular planes can still re-arm on the helibases, I know because I've done it before, with a BB-1 at 9.7. In any case, thanks for clarifying.

You're probably thinking that the icon of a drone you see on map is same thing as helipad spawn / rearm point, but the icon indicates only a drone spawn point which stupidly is right above the helipad. It needs an airfield to rearm.

Not counting in the mystical rearm of planes which you somehow land in first place on helipad, you do know that the IRL military drones lift off and land on airfields too? Because they need few hundred metres of runway to actually lift off.

That wasn't what I was thinking, no.

Landing props on helibases is easy, approach the longest straight bit, stall 20 meters before you reach it and crash land without exploding. You should slide to a stop before sliding off the hill the helibase is on, and then you just respawn in mid-air once you're re-armed and repaired. And yes, I know drones IRL operate from airfields, my dad literally works with those drones, but in WT you can somehow rearm planes if you land on helibases, so why not drones?

Planes re-arming on a helicopter pad sounds more like a mix between a gimmick and exploit.

I mean... vtols? Sure. But prop or jet? Mmmm...
No. The non paved gravel, assuming there's no length of flat pavement would rip the wheels off at high speed landing or taking off.

Plus magically spawning at full speed in a plane over the helicopter pad just seems.. iono. Stupid.

But tiss just a game. So whatever :VBCOOL:

you should be able to land drones at the helipad since they have a very small paved section of landing strip and drones go slow enough they should be viable to land in a smaller space than a normal aircraft, i fly multiple vtol jets and land on the helipads for faster reloading and a automatic airspawn at full speed, drones should get the same access
