Positions, game flow, tactics.
Should the game be easier? Why? People can be noobs at any tier thanks to premiums. Only way you'll learn is by playing.
You want to play specific vehicles. Vehicles are what determines match making, not player level.
All player level does is show how much research someone has earned in their career, not their skill level.
Wanting to restrict BRs/vehicles based on player level is not a good idea. What if I at level 100, now want to play Naval instead of Ground? What about when a new tech tree comes out? I'm not allowed to play new content because I hit level 100 many years ago?
And yes, this is completely "whingeing" - and if you really feel the need to make a comment about being ready for the "drivel" when posts like these come up; then you would know the reasons why it is the way it is, and that your post is indeed pointless whining.
Why? Could be they're playing with some friends, could be they're playing a tree they've never played before. Unlikely they're playing specifically for SL unless they own premiums at the tier. Maybe they want some simplistic action compared to the quick matches at high tier.
One of the best things about War Thunder is you can play across multiple eras. Sometimes I'll switch between high tier / low tier matches in the same session just so I don't get tunnel visioned playing against ATGMs / Helicopters / CAS.
see mate you are the reason why i mentioned it... do you have to spit the dummy and throw a rant. it is not whining it was a genuine ask for information but based on previous comments other had made over the years i added the last bit. Never said you weren't allowed to play new content. I asked why level 100's were down playing with the newbs. i said i would be happy to play with other high rank players at the lower tiers. Thank you for the information on research, i did not know. I am a newb :)
Have a nice day.
I'm still in the lower BR brackets for some ground forces, mainly Italy and to a lesser extent China.
However my air trees are usually lacking behind my ground forces equivalents. I also most of the time am a free kill to a pilot who knows which end of their fighter has the bullets come out.
Do I have some higher BR planes? Yes. Do I have the skill or experience to use them? God no.
Cheers for the input mate, this was what i was after. I got up to (not sure) on the console, but had two years away and just come back onto a PC. So a relative newbie, and it is all still a bit weird and new. That makes total sense. Basically i could be level 100 player in a German tank, but would start again at a Russian low tier... Doh! head is well and truly up my own butt today. i would delete my original comments, but it might stop other people asking damn fool questions :)
(ie: They mained US, and are now moving on to Italy.)
Makes a nice change to go back to simpler times and also to replay vehicles that you maybe haven't used in years. It's the same with tanks, had a couple of games with those early german 20mm's just for a little fun.
Can get boring when you're constantly trying to spade the same vehicles every game.
Researching recently added vehicles in lower ranks.
Using higher rank vehicles for that would lead to big research mali.
Part of the tech trees you have not researched yet (for me f.e. the blue water ships of some nations).
There is also a BP challenge requiring 10 kills with vehicles of all ranks.
One rank is 1. Rank 2 is another one.
If I want to finish that challenge, I have to use rank 1 & 2 vehicles.
Sealclubbing newbies is not gaining you much in terms of SL & RP.
So if you're not into stat-padding (some may be into it, but IMHO most are not), the reasons above make the most sense.
Apart from "for fun".
Not in the slaughtering newbies part, but enjoying the lower ranks vehicles part.
