This tank can only fight strictly at its BR or under, and cannot under any circumstance beat heavy tanks of 4.0 BR in a frontal duel. Talking about frontal, the ACL-1 is supposed to be used like the Jumbo, which is to say facing the enemy with little to no angle. Essentially the ideal position is front facing the enemy, and hull down (so the body covered behind an obstacle) because the turret face / mantlet has more armor than the glacis.
Offensive was it packs a good punch for its better, being able to tear any German tank to shreds with about 90mm of pen at a reasonable distance / angle, and due to the ballistic cap, it doesn't just go through like an APC, it has a reasonable one shot potential especially if you pen from the front.
Its main weaknesses are its large exposed tracks, little to no armor at top back (radiator and engine grille have under 10mm of armor) so beware of CAS, and it also has a very large profile due to being a heavy tank
Main advantages are its very high survivability (sometimes I've survived 1V3s), great penetration and and the gunner is on the left side (when facing it), unlike in most tanks. This is pretty good because any wise tanker would aim at the right side of the turret to take out the gunner first, but that would just hit the loader.
TLDR it's a good tank, but only at its BR or under
The ARL-44 however is. The better gun means you can TD with it.
