You ask about "repairing your gun" in that time, but you don't say what you damaged - barrel, breech, or both? Or did you just kill the gunner?
The barrel was destroyed. Crew I could understand (It does go much faster than repairs) but I've never seen anyone repair their gun(barrel) so quickly before.
PS: And there was absolutely no enemy nearby who could've helped with repair.
Being on a friendly capture point reduces the time even further, if he happened to be on one. Although off-hand I'm not sure how much of a bonus it provides. But it is fairly substantial
No I shot his gun once destroying it. follow up shots were hits on his crew, thinking if I kill enough then he'll die by default.
He was on a friendly base so maybe that combined with completely maxed out crew did the trick. Pretty crazy because if I used a T-54 I wouldn't even be able to reload by the time he could fix his barrel and return fire. Luckily almost no one has maxed out or even expert crew in this BR so at least it's rare.
Even without Aced crew I've had sub 20 second repairs on capture points. So if he was indeed on a point then that's likely what you came across
At the very least now you know that if you're near a friendly capture point with decent cover you can try to use it yourself. (It also let's you repair at "normal" speed even if you don't have parts)
