F8U-2 is 16k while F-8E goes up to 18,000k spaded, which is the pretty normal range for Rank VI/VII aircraft now.
10.3 aircraft generally have the problem of you get utterly wrecked in an uptier while being pretty dominate in a down tier. You rarely get inbetweens.
F3H is in a really bad place so it's not a fair comparison. F3H will do much better at 9.3 when the BR pass comes in.
Crusaders are very capable aircraft. 11.3 out perform them, but they can competently contend with them if you use them carefully. They do pretty well when fighting within their own BR bracket and very well in downtiers.
Crusaders have a bit of a steep learning curve to them so you'll likely take losses while you're getting over that. Once you do get over the curve, they'll do good. They're definitely not aircraft I would choose to grind with because the margin of error of eating their repair cost vs. gains isn't very comfortable for SL, but you can at least neutral it out or slowly pull ahead.
