Tank Destroyers are so bad compared to everything else

Every br they are so bad i always feel so limited and inflexible when i play this class. Why should i/you play TD´s when you can play light or medium tanks that can do everything that TD´s do but better?

i disagree, td's are pretty great at most BRs, having big punchy guns is pretty good to snipe with

Yeah but you can also snipe in light and medium tanks that usually has 1 shot potential.

I don't know, I've always had good matches with Stugs and the UK Avenger. Got some great scores with many TDs honestly. Maybe you are just too gun ho and rush forward to be a good TD player

at lower BRs they'll have worse guns or armor, TDs like the Hetzer and jagdpanzer can also brawl pretty wellif you're careful

The 105/25 M43 is a hidden gem. Slap a bush on it and it will become invisible in the eyes of German and American mains. 105mm cannon is super punchy (95mm pen 275g tnt APHE, 120mm pen HEAT). It's also at 3.0 so you can easily attach it to your 3.3 lineup. THe only thing that makes me kinda uncomfortable playing it is the long yet bearable reload and the lack of turret rotation

The same issue exists for all big guns,, what's the point of a big gun with a long reload when a 'normal' gun can also one shot everything, there is no real advantage to having a big gun, especially when that turns an 8 second reload into 20-30 seconds.

Not to mention the horribly unfair penalty that is applied to reloading when you lose a crew member where you're punished even harder.

That is why those tanks have more armor and lower BR, the reload is compensated by survivability.

Great example is ISU-152 at 4.7. it's APHE can frontally pen a panther despite having 160mm base but it has over 80mm at 60°. Reload is long but it has 90mm of armor you can easly angled. It also has a HEAT shell that can lolpen even the Tiger 2.

This is just what i mean. Also if your TD get flanked you are literally dead. You always have to have your hull forwards and you cant really play aggressively because you dont have turret which means that when you engage in close-medium range you are instantly in disadvantage because no turret.

God don't mention the avenger. It's a true gem of a tank. I feel the moment players catch onto that it's going up in BR.

TDs kind of suit my style of play. The key skills that I believe will help me in top tiers is patience, leading shots, positioning & observing enemy movement for planning ambushes & blah. Practising on TDs made me better at tanks/light tanks especially the ones with great guns/ammo but poor armour.
I can't capture points for the blue team but taking out the heavies and snipers builds a lot of momentum across choke points.
Open top TDs are a bit of revenge kill magnet no matter how many times one repositions.
The German TD line (II to III level) are like absolute fun.
As far as flanking is concerned it is painful for both tanks and TDs (assuming of course that the flanker knows what they are doing like looking around the corner, timing the reload of the opponent etc.)
Used to severely dislike TDs earlier but the advice on forums by veteran players really helps if adapted and put into action.
Lot of fun to be had if one gets the hang of it.

Every BR? I feel like the early German TD's are better than their early mediums, at most things. On the other hand, I generally leave them be after the first couple ranks.

Though the Avenger isnt a TD anymore. It's classed as a medium these days. Kinda like how the M18 is a light tank.

revenge bombing aside, the waffenträger can be quite okay.
you just need to know where to position yourself and when it's time to shoot/move.
