Don't get me wrong, people do keep coming in saying things like this.
As someone who played Naval both literally last night and when it first went open, I'm still not clear on what they're referring to.
...Also depending on what you're talking about saying whether you mean AB or RB may be a key point.
Pretty sure they mean the new overall aiming system, was different before, don't remember the exact details though. I personally prefer the new system, but maybe I never gave naval a fair shake before.
Probably both modes as well
But it wasn't bound by default when Naval first came out either.
Whatever they have done has killed Naval battles for me.
try, these 2 and see if they are what you are after.
1: -controls -naval -miscellaneous -manual aim correction. can still lock onto a ship but doesn't auto range the shells. (will track a target but you have to adjust the shots manually.)
2: -controls -naval -camera controls -target pointing. gives "free aim" no locking onto ships fire where you want.
