A10Early AGM problems
I am fully admitting that most likely I am doing something wrong. Here is my issue.

I go into test drive (realistic battle) in the A10Early to understand the aiming mechanisms for the TV guided AGM's and have absolutely no problem locking onto a ground target, firing, turning out and a few moments later that target exploding into a fiery celebration of death. However, when I get into an actual realistic battle, I bring my a10 out, use it the exact same way, within the 23km (usually between 6 and 12km) lock on, fire, and they never seem to track or hit anything.

Is this an issue with the A10 currently? A bug? Why am I not getting the same results? I understand in test flight the targets are in the open and not moving, so I understand that maybe perhaps it's an elevation matter, and my AGM's are striking a building or some other obstruction. If you know, please do share.

I have the same problem. In custom battles everything seems to work fine aswell but in real battles those AGM fly either in a straight line or just nose dive into the ground
Use the track button to cam follow the missile to analyze the problem.

It should be semi-active missile so id suspect you need to guide the missile in with the lock. Rather then firing and forgetting. The test flight targets for A-10 are stationary, so they dont require any course corrections in order to hit.
the A10 early has the AGMs that are TV guided. they will usually not track moving targets well. the AGMs on the A10 late, are IR guided and will track better. but i also seem to get issues with mine. you dont need to stay in the cam to control the missile, they do lock then fire and forget. they work similar to laser guided, but arent laser guided. i find i have hit or miss results when i carry the agms on my a10 early.i can get my lock to lock sometimes, then others not, and then if i try to cam guide it, they end up missing. so i just fly them and if i get something, great, if not oh well.


(the above may be wrong info, please correct me if i am. its just from what i have seen in the few battles i have played with it)
Mavericks are a bit janky in actual matches, maybe there's some issue with desync and what not. The best method for me is locking and if your camera moves with the target then it will probably hit. They also don't work during night battles (I think, the A-10 doesn't have thermals right?)
Make sure your locks are set to the same bind when launching it. Also ensure the target is locked before u pull away.
Its also helpful to pull up the nose of the plane when firing the AGM's. They often dont have enough "arc" and hit infront of the target. So lock target, pull the nose up abit and then fire it to give it this little "extra".

Hard to describe, atleast that works for me.
I thought the A10 Early's mavericks couldn't track targets? I was under the impression you could guide them, but they wouldn't automatically follow a tank, and if it moved and you didn't correct your aim, you would miss. I think only the A10 late (tech tree version) has missiles that guide themselves. I might be wrong though, as I'm not an expert and don't play either vehicle
Thanks everyone for your comments and replies as well as your time. It is an issue that I am really trying to figure out and fine-tune. It definately seems as though, for a conclussion, there are both things I need to be doing differently and things that Gaijin needs to fix. I will take that for what it is worth, and maybe comment about any changes I've noticed after implementing yall's advice.

The TV guided weapons struggle to get locks in night battles, but laser ones (like on the A10 late) don't

TV Missiles/Bombs, as far as I know, basically take a picture and then launch at that position constantly double checking their picture if something in this picture moved, and that they go for. I could be wrong

That's a pretty clear way to put it, so thanks for that explanation. Could explain a lot actually. So let me ask this then, If you go back to your TV view, to "update" the image so your missile can track, does it require you to re-lock the same target? or just look at it.
I think what irritates me is MCLOS AGM's are entirely much easier to use, and TV should not be more difficult than a manually guided AGM.

Nah bruh The Mavs are defo buggy...
Also The GBU-8s.. better off bringing Other bombs.

The German F4F also uses the same Mav's as the A10 Early. They are trash and everything the A10 can carry is better than the Mav's.
