Difference between Pz.IV H and Pz.IV J
Hello guys. I am researching tanks to get the panther, and I noticed that there is a BR 4.7 Pz.IV H after which it follows Pz.IV J. Im scratching my head because i literally cant see any difference between them. Armor and Armor Pen is same, yet BR is drastically changed. Can somebody tell me whats the catch?

J has way slower turret rotation speed IIRC

J is a late war variant of the Panzer IV where Germany started cutting corners, it's missing the additional skirts over the side of the hull and most importantly they cut the powered traverse, so it's hand cranked.
OK, so J has slower turret rotation due to historical reasons. Anything else?

Not really, the traverse is the main thing. Some people hate it for some reason, but I love it — it’s a Pz IV H with a slow af turret traverse, but 0.3 Br lower. The Pz IV H with 2 Pz IV and a StuG III G backup is always good, or 2 Pz IVs + StuG and such in a 4.0 lineup is great. It also has a higher RP multiplier, so I actually considered putting a talisman on it before, however, I didn’t.

i like how the germans and soviets get to have 50 variants of the same tank yet no other tree is allowed this :/

it has slightly higher sl and rp bonus and slightly better gun (l48 instead of l43)

Does the J actually not have sideskirts? It should. It didn't have solid metal sideskirts like the H, but it did have sideskirts made out of wire mesh. Served the same purpose with less cost in materials.

The premium command version the J has the mesh skirts, the J in the regular tree only has the skirting around the turret.

There's more Sherman variants missing than PZIV or T-34 variants. Where's the M4a6 for example?

Also there's atleast 3 different Cromwell variants they could add easily that's missing. Cromwell Mk 7 with thicker armour, Centaur with the older Liberty engine, Cromwell Mk 6 CS with 95mm howitzer and HEAT. There's also the Cavalier for an even earlier Cromwell with 6-pounder, thinner armour, weaker engine.

For the Churchill they are missing atleast the Mk 5 CS with the howitzer and Churchill NA75 which is a Mk 4 Churchill with Sherman mantlet and gun.

There's probably even more than what I've remembered listing here. So yes, there's quite a few Cromwell and Churchill variants missing.

EDIT: Don't forget the Covenanter. The Covenanter is missing too.

whO CaREs aBoUT vArIEnTs WhEn WE can HavE LeOParD 2A5s?

This is another reason I am disappointed with the current game, yet not the past.

Old game: how many spitfires do we have? Bf 109s? Pre 1953 T-54s? T-34s? Pz IVs? Shermans?

New game: how many MiG-17s do we have? F-100s? Centurions? Chieftains? Type 74s? Leopards? Post 1953 T-54/55s? T-62s? T-72s? T-64s and T-80s? Etc.

I am literally not joking when I say probably 10% of what we could have in the Cold War is actually represented. They care more about powercreeps than adding actual meat to the trees, the Cold War/Modern trees. I mean, I bet there’s like a 70% chance we’ll get the first MiG-21 next patch. Yeah there’s like 15-20 MiGs not in game still. The Su series. Just as there are like a dozen T-54/55s, a half-dozen to a dozen T-62s, a dozen T-72s, half dozen T-64s, ~3-4 T-64s a large number of better T-34s and a large number of modernised/modified WW2/early Cold War tanks, an entire armoured car line/tank hunter line, a dozen Cold War SPAA units still, a dozen BMP-1 variants, a half dozen BMP-2 variants, an entire new APC line that is missing (the entire BMD line), multiple light tanks, and this is all serviced vehicles — don’t even consider the massive prototype arsenal. ...This is just Russia as example. Literally just Russia, it’s like this for America, Britain, Germany, Japan, etc. every nation is missing well more than half the vehicles they could have, if not much less than 10-20% of their Cold War lines.

Both Pz IV H and J has L/48.

America never used the M4A6 I'm pretty sure, it's in the Italian tree

They never used it in combat, but they did have it in service and more importantly they manufactured them. They did the same with the M6a1 and nobody has any problem having that in the game, do they?

The one in the Italian tree is different I believe.

Either way it belongs in the US tree far more than the Italian tree and it's not the only one. The most widely used Sherman by the US was the M4a3. The only A3 in the US tree mounts a howitzer and not the regular gun.

There's Sherman versions missing from the tree very blatantly so, no doubt about it.
