I don’t use it for grinding, but I heard also it is very good for SL grinding, I’ve seen some pretty high SL game screenshots from it.
Plus it has guided bombs for the fun of it.
It is like a prop mixed with a jet, it has the speed and acceleration of a jet, while it turns like a spitfire, making it a godly dogfighter. That might be the good part, as it might be a good transition vehicle into jets.
But also, it isn’t representative of jet combat. Try to pull the s*** you can do in a Ho 229 in say a Me 262 or a F-86, you’re going to have a really bad game. Plus just getting used to that your jet has wooden wings, probably half your deaths at first will be learning to not turn too hard.
^But if the overall doesn’t matter to you, idk if you have jets or not, as an aircraft the 229 is very interesting. He MK 103s destroy, as they are not only German 3cms with mine shells, it has considerable velocity, although the rage of fire is lower than the Mk 108 (but it does have ammo capacity). The top speed is ok, while the turning capabilities are insane, but you do have to slow down (without airbreaks) if you’re going fast before you can start turning. The 229 is OP against props though because of this, because you can turn with spitfires, yet you’re a jet. It is still made of wood though, it’s a big target when the enemy is facing the top or bottom of your craft (though a pancake of a target from side/rear/front), so getting shot is even worse on the 229 than even most early jets, and it isn’t hard to do it in those situations.
But yeah, the He 177 is like my fav bomber as it has good defensive armaments for the most part, along with fantastic bomb loads.
The rewards from it are excellent, especially with a talisman, and it is a more peaceful way of grinding when you get burnt out from fighters and you need a consistent, reliable, less intense yet still fun way of grinding. The 234B is so much fun, I’ve yet to still play the C version, even though I bought it and everything. If not the He 177 being worth it, which I think it is, just getting the Arado 234 B-2 that’s after it is totally worth it.
Arado — best bombload is the default, the 3 500kgs destroy the base, or kill 2 tanks reliably. The upgraded one has the same bombload, just different config, which does give it a couple km/h faster with bombs, but frankly doesn’t matter and does have a SL price.
He 177 — the default bombload can’t kill 2 bases, but it can destroy 1. But you do have to be slow enough to spam all the bombs, since it’s a lot of little ones. If you’re going to fast, you’ll miss some of them, which might be the reason for not destroying the base.
However in the recent update they increased the repair cost of the he177 by a significant amount so high risk, high reward.
but ever since p47 lost its airspawn you are less likely to die straight away.
-The Dorniers with torpedo loadouts
-Do 335 (B-1)
-Me 163 B-0
>Do 335 A-1 is fun as a ground pounder or bomber hunter, and that is only what it’s good at. If you mean the B-1, the premium, I would not pay money for it tbh.
>Me 163 B is good, but haven’t tried the B-0. But it has 4 2cm MG 151s with more ammo, so I would definatly consider it better, if you like the 163 B, B-0 would be worth considering. Although it would never get downtiered, because 8.3.
Unless you're going for titles, torpedo armaments really would be the last thing I research.
I remember then I was younger and dumber I thought I'd go for the Sea Hunter title and a lot of the torpedo hits (iirc there are italian bombers that carry 3, rather than the usual 2) resulted in impacts with no kill...
335A-1 (Or do you mean B-2?), I suppose is OK. They're a B-17's worst nightmare, and can clean up ground targets well... just remember they are heavy, don't turn very well, and are absolute pigs on one motor, if you can even climb with them.
Komet's are a bit of an acquired taste so to say. I have the 163B with the 30mm's, don't really care for it too much.
