Aircraft offline use?
Hello all. I mostly fly Oculus VR now. This makes it impossible to be competitive in war thunder online. Moreover, while if others of you enjoy it I'm very very happy for you and more power to you, for me the online experience lacks historical fidelity and is a pretty real-war "skinned" game but really that's about it. So, except for a few short sessions here and there for fun where due to lack of practice I'll get shot down by people who care about levels and such, I really have no interest in playing war thunder online. I do however more or less like the solo missions (I wish there were more) since they to some degree have a sense of history to them and I also like flying the aircraft solo - especially the ones with well done cockpits. while the aerodynamics ain't great, the ability to fly, say, an XP-55 is something pretty unique and cool. moreover, as opposed to sims such as DCS that i also own war thunder is realtively easy to just jump into without too mcuh startup hassle.

So, my questions are:
- is there a way to get access to a lot of the aircraft for offline/solo play only? i understand there is 'test flight' for some aircraft, but other aircraft on 'levels' that i didnt reach when i was playing online years ago are locked forever. i am not against paying but obviously, but a reasonable amount commensaurate with offline use.
- is there a way to get more single-player historical missions or is the limited amount pretty much fixed?

thanks!

One way to get these "Single Player Historical Missions" would be found under War Thunder Live's Mission section... but you still need to unlock the vehicles to be able to play the said mission

You cannot play WT offline.

However, there are dynamic campaigns which are cinematic as noodles, single player missions that are as well, and tank/air assault modes you can fight PvE.

You won’t have access to all vehicles though, you’d still have to grind them out.

If you want to use VR get a proper joystick, throttle and peddle setup and go play air sim. You need peddles to even take off in Sim without running off the runway (unless you have twin counter props?).

Also warthunder requires an active internet connection. Loosing it will kick you back to the login screen, even in Historical campaigns and challenges against AI.

who says i don't have a 'proper joystick'? what a weird message. i have a much better setup that you have, including a Thrustmaster Warthog system and saitek pro pedals on a dedicated superb metal stand (forget what it's called)

obviously i play wt offline (as well as DCS, XPlans, Aerofly FS2, and ohers) all the time and know what i am doing. my question was just can i get all of the aircraft without having to play what to me is the relatively uninteresting and certainly historically unrealistic game of warthunder multiplayer.

The only other way to obtain aircraft outside of MP is spending A LOT of money, unfortunately

Can’t even do that. You need to play to bank up convertible RP, if you never play to earn that, you can’t pay to convert it.

Straight up need multiplayer to advance.
