Also, you dont need to get the hang of them, its simple, you just energy fight its what all sabres have been for and the F100D is no different.
The F100 can't turn with the Mig, it can't climb away from the Mig, in some scenarios it can't even effectively run away from the Mig.
The Mig 19, as an aerial superiority fighter, is really just not a fair match for the F100 at all. The F100 is an attacker, meant to perform well in a close air support role. The Mig just does better in every category that matters, when it comes to dogfights.
Have you actually played the USA air tree? It's miserable from top to bottom.
And very hard to believe that's not intentional. Considering for (what 6 years now?) that's been the case.
Then again, it was the first day and people dont know how to fly all that well in it
So right now you can fly the worse (USA) jet against the better (Russian) jets and do well because so many noobs just unlocked their very first War Thunder plane, a Russian premium jet. Haha well that makes sense. I suppose this is the only brief period when you might actually do well in a USA jet.
