rangefinder inaccurate calculations

why the rangefinder doesn't give me true calculation about the distance of the enemy? For example, if it shows 800m, i fire at 800m and the shell lands next to the target, dealing no dmg at all. I also have the rangefinder as modification tho.

That's built in IIRC. One of the perks helps with the estimation.

I maybe wrong though as I go by eye.

That's why your gunner crewman has a "Rangefinding" upgrade, to improve their accuracy. And even then it will never be a perfect number because there is always still a margin of error. You'd need more modern laser rangefinders for that.

It is that keen vision skill maybe, but i got the rangefinder as a modification and that is able to tell the distance of up to 2km, which is pretty stupid to tell me wrong on 800m plus my crew is 109 level ace on the tank.

You mean lack there of I don't think had one at all its just he gunners rangfinding going "yeah that looks like 824 meters I think..."

Object 268 has the massive coincidence rangefinder right on the commanders hatch (it's impossible to miss). Though if it's an actual modification, I don't remember.

Do you have maxed out keen vision, targeting, rangefinding and commanders leadership skill? Because all of that contributes to the margin of error as well as the gun modifications for your tank

Rangefinder upgrade cut the time needed for its use, depending of the rangefinder you have & gunner skill you get a 150m error margin

cuts the time for its use, but also increases the distance of rangefinding of up to 2km.
And is not a laser rangefinder, that is for sure.

There isnt even an option to raise or lower the gun for range finding for me, i had the option montths ago but when i reset my pc it reset the controls and now i cant find the buttons to raise and lower the gun for range finding

iv checked every option in every tab 5 times, its nowhere.

In the "sniper" mode? That's "Sight distance control" under "Misc."
