Is the Sherman 2 Bad?

Playing the British Tank tree, and the Sherman 2 seems like a massive downgrade from the cromwells. I've been one shotted in them constantly mainly by T34s and Panzer IV F2s, and it's slightly slower and cannot traverse as well. The gun doesn't feel like that much of an upgrade. Should I just scrap the tank and use something else? I've definately had more success in my Croms than in Shermans.

The brit tree is problematic at that BR, fully spaded croms are good tanks, there is not a lot of choice to replace the sherman, the churchill I found very disappointing. I use sherman, crusader and cromwell.

Most of the shermans in the US tree are pretty bad compared to other tanks of the same teir

At least the shermans has 50.cals that can destroy air. Last time, i destroyed a pe-8 that was flying too low. Also, I killed a is-2 with the 75mm m3 gun. I brought the m4a2 at 6.7 and killed a is-2 and damaged the t44

Brit tree is fun granted I only got to teir 2, but I got the 3.7 br tanks they work pretty well and the churchill is a beast tiny little gun yeah but minus that its pretty hard to kill. Last time a teammate laft at me for using my MKIII first in a 4.0 BR match I was 2nd place in the team from just bouncing shots, and landing crits :P

Oh yea I'm a big fan of the Crusader Mark 3, it's an excellent glass cannon, and that's kinda the same for the Cromwells. But the Sherman 2? I don't know, they just seem to die. Not very fast, doesn't have a gun that much better than the cromwells. and a fatter target too.

I am at 6.7 british and have never played the sherman 2, I can garuntee you however the cromwell is better, it can even compete decently at 6.0br in realistic if you have it in your lineup

Is it british? Does it have a 17 pounder? Can it reverse faster than a rock? Can it withstand at least 5% of the stronk german and soviet shells at its BR from the front? Can it traverse hills greater than 20 degrees?

If yes to all of these questions then it is probably one of the best tanks in the british tree.

If you answered no to at least 2 or more of them then why use it?

The Firefly has the 17pdr not the Sherman 2, Sherman 2 has 75mm. Also I'm not sure sacrifcing overall speed for better reverse speed is worth it. Maybe I grew accustomed to playing with the Cromwells, but to me the Sherman feels like a massive pain to drive. The addition of the slight benefits to armor, damage, and general maneuvrability don't feel worth the sacrifice to the speed and agility and the lower profile of the Cromwell.

The 75mm is my most hated gun in this gun. It has the worst velocity, bad penn, worst/boring sound, peashooter. They should make the 75mm velocity to kv-2 levels for ♥♥♥♥♥ and gigs. Because of that, i usually bring the 75mm to uptiers to praise its bad performance. Btw, this is reality. I do this irl

Ap with filler no other brit round comes close so the sherman is a god tank.

I have not seen the f2 in the british tank tree i will take a look now.
The peelings are strong in this one lol...................

so u are talking about the british tree now? anyway, the british tree are all crap and bad except high tier. In fact, grinding british is as hard as eating a rock. I'd rather grinding the japanese because they have nuke rounds(400 gr of HE). Also, i'd rather grinding the french because they have autoloaders and good tanks. Glass cannon's that are mobile and fast
