Long distance shooting in RB
Sup bois, so I've got quite a few hours in this game but I haven't done a ton of RB tanks before and I recently discovered something that I'm sure everyone else knows but I'll share anyway in case anyone else is in my position. If you go to your control settings, under tanks-miscellaneous you'll see a setting for rangefinding and sight adjustment. If you bind keys to rangefinding, increase sight, decrease sight, and reset sight you'll find life much easier in RB.

I gather that some higher level tanks have accurate rangefinders that can be unlocked, however ALL TANKS have rangefinding capabilities. If you look at something through the scope and press your rangefinding button, your gunner will estimate the range to the target (this is affected by the rangefinding crew skill, which I believe increases the maximum range and the accuracy of estimates). You can then use the sight adjustment to increase your sight distance. Then all you have to do is point at the target and click. The accuracy of the rangefinding can be iffy, and the crew can't estimate very far (mine can only go up to 816m but I'm nowhere near fully levelled) but it's still pretty useful. Anyways you probs already know about this but hey, I hope I helped someone.

Setting a button for binoculars is more important, I'd say more important than the rangefinder

I've had the ranging sight control set to my mouse wheel for as long as I can remember.

Good advice for people newto mids-high rank Realistic thought.

honestly i am much faster just eyeballing it and manually adjusting for range, i only switch to using rangefinding and sight adjustment for protracted firefights

Default binos is B. there is a range finder you got hotkey it yourself same with adjust scope. I makd mine mouse 5 I think, and pag up page down to adjust gun . For most part unless you ina good spot and they don't see you its easier to eyeball and use binos to see over things like trees and bushes. But if you got a good spot and no one sees you then yeah range find that thing

Yeah. Binoculars are placed above your gun sights as well, so you can see targets you otherwise wouldn't over the crest of a hill.

I've used them to eyeball in killshots onto targets I couldn't see from my sights as well.

range finding is pretty useless to me, I one-shotted an german armoured car in a M4a3 105 from 800m away using HEAT. just eyeballing it is usually enough.

Yeah the binos are almost more useful than the gun, today I used my binoculars one shot an M4 through 3 buildings on Kursk
