List of War Thunder Issues
Greetings, fellow War Thunder players. If you have a problem with War Thunder I forgot to list, feel free to suggest it.
Without further ado, the following contains the problems of War Thunder and Gaijin should fix them ASAP.
- Excruciating grind
- Ghost shells
- "Unfair" matchmaking
- Expensive repair costs - some planes can cost you your kidney.
- EAC not working as intended for numerous players
- Little attention to lower tier vehicles
- Artillery, both AI Arty in Air RB and semi-playable modification arty in GRB.
- Servers not responding

-The lack of traction in ground games.

I think this is my biggest issue with ground battles, it doesn't make sense that tanks that are known for their low ground pressure and good traction starts sliding down a 15 degree slope. I get that they're doing it to remove broken sniping spots but that's a terrible solution. It's ridiculous, I feel like I'm ice skating when I try to go up a tiny hill.

-Compressed BRs.

This issue is the biggest in naval where you're matched against super dreadnoughts in your cruiser or against a heavy cruiser as a destroyer, there's barely anything you can do except hope they focus on someone else. It's also pretty bad in top tier air battles.

Not really - I was kinda bored and wanted to see what problems WT has from the community's eyes.
In before someone says "Ghost shells are because of your connection", not saying they're right or wrong, but someone's gonna bring it up.

Besides that, I can't think of anything different that's not already on the list. WT at it's core is an amazing concept that no other game comes close to, but in Gajin's hand, is honestly a cash cow that most of us know is horrid but will still play. It's fun, but I can't say I haven't quit for months at a time because of Gajin's decisions.

Spawn point campers are what I hate :/ If they at least allow us to spawn in at higher alt's we would have a fighting chance against this.

- Terrible gigantic maps. They turn this game into an intense driving simulator.
- Fulda, Maginot Line, Mozdok, Volokolamsk, Campania, Sands of Sinai, etc. I've banned and disliked them all at some point, but I still get them. Nothing BUT them. For me these are the most common maps. I am speechless.
- Fulda - I've banned it, I've disliked it - still I get it twice a day on average.
- Overall terrible map design that only favors campers and those who flank on the very edge.
- Lack of gameplay. Same 'cap a point' repetitive nonsense all over again from 1.0 up to 11.0. This is just mind boggling, combined with all the pointless grind.
- Ridiculous 'historicity' where war time vehicles face off with supersonic postbellum cars that are decades apart.
- Absolute defenselessness of heavily armored vehicles (a consequence of the previous point). Maus is easily destroyed by 6.0 vehicles upwards, and at 7.7 it is torn to pieces. T95 stays without its barrel every battle until it's flanked. Ferdinand is pierced in front by everything like there's no tomorrow.
- Maus ♥♥♥♥♥ with WMA301 (a present ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ day vehicle). Early 1940's war time bunker fights modern ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tanks from 1980's, 1990's, 2000's, 2010's. Get Gaijined, ♥♥♥♥♥!
- Constant nerf of regular and especially premium vehicles. They throw vehicles between BR's or drastically cut their pen. Devs are capable of anything. T114 6.7 ---> 7.3, Matilda Hedgehog 2.3 ---> 2.7, B1 bis/B1 ter 2.0 ---> 2.3, etc.
- The lack of traction.
- And a lot more

Holy mother of god the map design is AWFUL. There are maps where all you can do is snipe each others spawn and not even cap points.
-rewards.
The rewarding system has been greatly nerfed lately. Even premium won't help you.
-not lvl based MM
This is just annoying, I've seen more lvl 100s in a 1.3 match than a 7.3 one. They curb stomped the entire game.
-no decompression.
-bad balancing system.
Theoretically, if we all decide to play the tiger H1 badly en masse, it may go 4.7 or even 4.3.

Will never be solved, but you can always hope. This has already been requested for several years.

The way naval matchmaking works. If you compare the BR's of naval units in war thunder to ground units, or air units, or even a game like world of warships, which in my opinion does a much better job with naval combat than war thunder, you have units of different types and weight classes that are still balanced. In war thunder's naval system, ships are sorted by weight class. Think if every heavy tank had a higher BR than every medium or light tank. This is ultimately do to warthunder's poor naval battles, but we do't have time for that today.

BR isn't simply by tonnage though. The real issue is that the BRs are so squashed together that you get later, cannon-focused destroyers at the exact same BR as light cruisers that have better survivability and bigger/more guns. And that's just at the same BR; go up 0.7 and it's all cruisers that make those 5.0 destroyers look like overweight PT boats. Go down 0.7-1.0 and those same destroyers have literally twice the firepower of most opponents they meet.
