But what do you mean "5 damage?" 5 what? This isn't WoT.
There are no numbers that pop up when you shoot someone in War Thunder.
The ammo with the most pen may not be the best.
If you kill the engine 5 times (and don't set it on fire) then you just did that:
You killed the engine 5 times
If you don't kill crew members, set the tank on fire, or best, hit the ammo, you've done near to no (big) damage to a tank.
You probably just disabled single modules (multiple times).
And the numbers that pop up are probably RP & SL you earned for the hit.
5 RP and/or SL earned means you pretty much did jack fertilizer.
The numbers that pop up are the RP and SL earned for in game actions.
There are no hitpoints for vehicles.
