Golden eagles onsale at Gaijin but not steam ... why

Been buying some eagles just got into the game wanted a few premium vehicles to speed up research and silver collecting. Id been buying the 2500 packs off steam they have shown no sales on any size packs. logged into gaijin today to browse marketplace im a sucker for vehicles under $10 and looked at eagles to see they're on sale.... since when and why isn't steam offering this... There is no saving my spent funds but if you need eagles Gaijin...

they are not on sale, they are just the savings and comparative prices if you buy the bigger amounts(2500GE) compared to buying the cheapest one to meet the same amount of GE.

every currency is different but for my example CAD dollars 5000 eagles from gaijin an hour ago cost me $33 if i run the same transaction through steam right now its $49...

Steam takes a cut of everything it sells, like a good middle man. Buying from the source is always cheaper.

I understand a few percent premium for using steam but 1/3... so the current prices for eagles on gaijin for 5000+ eagles are normal? Steam always rips people off this bad...

Most companies and storefronts work like this. Buying directly is often cheaper.

Same credit card being used everything that's an eye watering cut for infinite digital content. But it is what it is lesson learned always look elsewhere before paying steam credit card removed...

Steam doesn't honor the bulk discount and also charges a premium ontop of the base price 2500 eagles through steam $24.67 through Gaijin 22.04. I've blindly trusted steam a long time i bought counter strike the week it came out.... but i get it now thanks all

Buying a game directly from steam, and buying a companies on game currency through steam are two very different things and transactions

Because Steam taxes developers by taking a cut out of every sale. The price differences mean that in either case Gaijin gets the same amount of money, but in one you pay less while in the other you get the convenience of using digital funds (IE your Steam Wallet) instead of by Credit Card.

Edit: Oh, also can't forget about the per-product fee of $100 for games, DLCs, and 'microtransaction' offers through the storepage.

After research further on reddit this has been known for two years pages of people outraged steam wasn't honor the at the time latest golden eagle bulk discount from gaijin. As a new war thunder player i had no idea and am sure many people are stung by this daily without a clue. Marking up in game currency is disgustingly greedy on steams behalf they're literally adding nothing and charging up to 38% for it but yea completely cool...glad i caught this early

Steam isn't marking it up, Gaijin is giving a discount on their own website.

mate this has been known since steam was made back then it wasnt 30% but now it is, its not like they hide it... like wtf everybody with a brain understands it lol
