Vehicles are just too big in this game.
Vehicles are just too big in this game. Takes up too much of the screen, no chance to zoom out.
It's really annoying and not dependent of the screen you are using.

Conclusion for my discussion and my last reply:

"

Where do you get the " most people " from ? I know around 23 people that stopped playing the game or never fully went in to it because they were bothered by the vehicle taking up too much space, now agree with it or not, but even this game's competitor (WoT) allows for a zoom out and in, although I find the zoom in WoT to be too much as someone can really screen the whole map for enemies, lol.

Be careful with " talking for most people ", this is usually a sign of personal weakness and lack of confidence, otherwise you would be speaking for yourself and leave that " most people " to literally, most people.

I haven't played WoT for around 10 years.

Stop talking about " realism ". In realism you aren't going to see your tank from the outside like this at all, nor will you be able to drive it like some remote controlled car, you would be the commander depending of the driver and so on and on, it's odd that you consider " realism " to be a factor at this stage even. lol. Like being able to zoom out by 2 or 3 more meters is going to change " realism " in this game.

Keep repeating that, maybe then it becomes true ?

People on here are toxic as hell, for simply one reason, they put words in my mouth I have never said and try to force their fanboy-ish view on to me as they can't even remotely handle criticism and what people might experience in this game.

I have said the vehicles is taking up too much of the screen, now this does not mean I want to be able to zoom out to an extend I can " exploit " and look beyond walls or corners. I find it to be hilarious when people on here, such as -reno Fr, talk about " realism " and relying on the crew, there literally is no relying on the crew in this game, this game is even arcade-gameplay at most when being played in the so called " realistic battle " or " simulator battle " game mode. Play a proper tank simulator and you guys will find that out quickly.

Conclusion: People here are indeed just fanboys, ranting on someone who criticises a pretty simple " flaw " in this game, intentionally misunderstanding what I am saying to start an argument (proof of toxicity). It's a fact that this game is lacking a simple and basic zoom function to zoom out at least a little bit OR INSTEAD make us play a few meters further away from our vehicle in the first place.

I have a huge screen and sitting this close to my tank when playing in third view is just ridiculous and a complete joke as well as a poor excuse for " realism ".

All I can add to this, not going any deeper in to discussions with those kind of people on here as it's always the same nursery tantrum being thrown as soon as someone comes up with some criticism.

Cheers.

Stop fat shaming my Maus, it's a very sensitive tank, she takes a lot of abuse often.

Besides that, I'm not really sure what you mean, most of the time it's in a comfortable spot for me, I'm not sure if it's down to settings or what

It's not shaming to point out that you're taking up an extra half of a lane on the road.

I am talking about all vehicles, it feels too closed in.

They aren't. Not unless we're comparing them to WoT (especially with some zoom out mods thrown on top).

In practical terms vehicles don't obstruct anything you need to see. The camera is only really close to the vehicle in simulation mode, but even there it mostly limits how much of the vehicle you can see and not how much you can look around.

I want to be able to zoom out, its a basic function in all games.

I guess if you're playing in arcade, perhaps but in rb no. You'd be able to corner peak even farther than you already can.

Map your free look to a spare mouse button and use it to look around. It's faster and less claustrophobic.

That's an unnecessary exaggeration. It obviously is not present in "all" games. Not even in most games of similar type.

I understand that it can be inconvenient, especially after another game where you preferred to zoom out a lot farther. There's nothing you can do here, though. The only option is to get used to the new environment.

There are gameplay reasons why it's not allowed to zoom out here and not all games need to be exact copies of each other in this regard.

You sound like a fan boy/girl to me.

You say so much without actually saying anything.

My criticism stands strong.
I don't think we're really playin the same game here, to be honest. Unless the zoom out we have in-game is tiny for you, and you want something like Battlefield 1 zooming out to see an entire continent, I'm not sure what to tell you. Either your settings are messed up that you're stuck really far zoomed in, or the zoom we have atm is too little in your view. It's enough in mine, you're already able to see around corners and such easily without exposing most tanks

I can not zoom out at all.
Then your settings are likely messed up, I would double check them. The only time the game forces you to have a permanent zoomed in state (top of the tank from commanders view) is during simulator battles. Otherwise, you zoom out decently

Sorry for trying to be polite. Should have went with the tried and true "git gud" I guess.

No it doesn't, actually.

Positioning and using cover / concealment are fundamental tactics in this game; being able to zoom out like an MMO would be akin to cheating.

Can you point out where and when I said I want to be able to zoom out like in an MMO ?

I literally made very clear the vehicles just take up too much space, you putting words in my mouth does not necessarily raise your credibility.
